Maybe... use some tanks and girders for the stem of the shroom and put the entrances and exits near the base of the dome. Maybe even some girders under the dome mimicking the gills.

yes, but i read somewhere about limitations on the doors, not sure, but you may only be able to have 2 entrances?
if someone else can remember what + where i read it, posting it may be useful.
but yeah, that may be an option too.
technically the doors can be any shape, ooh, maybe it was in the special property's of X files thread..

well we don't have to worry about that, since this faction will not have miners, it will, however, have constructors which will have to be able to dock in emergencies (although most of the time they dont make it.)

I agree Fishbone, but posting stuff doesn't hurt as long as you dont' expect anything... maybe gives a little inspiration (even in all our suckery... hell, I can't even model)?

wow.. that looks like a LOT of polygons... i don't think the game engine will be happy with that.
