Crono approbes the drama content of this thread and believes it should go into the Drama Vault that we can access a few years from now.

Drama Rating a very rare 10/10. Includes both admin and game related drama, AZ drama, the ancient CG drama, slurs, bigotry and maybe a bit more other stuff. All it needs now is a blatant attack on W and we're set for an 11/10.

I've admined communities before, communities usually much smaller then this, though once with a larger community, and in all cases I'd have banned YP for life, IP banned him, contacted his ISP if he continued and requested they shut down his internet (laugh all you want but they will do it if you jump through the hoops).

I like YP, and I doubt we'd have ever got into the same situation.

However, shutting things down was not Pooks fault.

YP basically attacked this board by constantly creating new accounts and posting in contravention of this boards rules and admin direction. YP made his own bed and is chillaxin' in it. Be glad that YP only got a short ban, looking at things he could have (and perhaps still can) get a much larger ban.

Bah.

Stupid insomnia.

(((YP)))

(((Pook)))

Wouldn't that have been better expressed a) civilly and even b) via his senator (the senate is there to represent the community to the admins after all)?

Even if I agreed with YPs motives I'd have a very hard time supporting his chosen actions even if the callsign he picked was far less deliberately offensive (say he'd picked Mohammed or Buddha or some other religeous icon).

If people really want to enact change why do they feel that slinging insults around is going to progress their cause? I've never understood that.

Why be glad for that? I don't think I would have been so nice.

Way to blow things way out of proportion, everybody!! Next time I'll think twice before I say something (or create a callsign) that is potentially "offensive." Obviously there are people in this community that cannot deal with a bit of community standards enforcement (which I had been fully expecting, registering a nick like Christ).

I am fully in support of banning my callsign. Pook did the right thing. While I think banning God was misguided, I think that if there are people in the community who's enjoyment of the game goes down when they see a callsign like that, then Pook was best to disable it and have spidey find another. It's a little silly, but whatever.

Unfortunately it seems that YP couldn't deal with this. YP, I've known you casually for a very long time. I'm fully aware that you are unhappy with the way this community is being run, and that Pook banning God and Christ was simply the final straw for you.

Knowing that, I've decided that I now have a much better understanding as to why you served prison time. Acting out like that was idiotic, immature, counterproductive, and damaging to the community. You think you're this wonderful martyr whom we will all rally behind, but you're being nothing more than an annoying pest. Taking credit for having basically laid the foundation for Allegiance as it is today? Give me a break. Yeah, you created a few mods - mods that destroyed the game in it's original incarnation, if i recall correctly. You seem to be a somewhat talented modder, though, syre. But do you REALLY think that if you hadn't done it, somebody else wouldn't have figured it out? You SERIOUSLY think that you are more important to this community than Pook and Thal, and countless other people who have devoted many, many hours to keep it running? You really think that anybody can take full credit like that, and not sound like somebody suffering from delusions of grandure?

Get over yourself and stop acting like a twelve year old. You don't like how this community is run? Fine, sometimes I dislike it as well. But what do I do? I keep things civil and PM the mods, make civilized posts, and remind myself that it's a game.

I really wish Pook/BV/TE would insta-lock any more threads on this matter. It's been discussed, and everybody is painfully aware of everybody else's stance on all of the topics discussed.

Stop posting these threads and get over it.
