I'd start grabbing whatever you can while you can and don't look back.
[15:25] <BBT_> oh, so da vinci's mona lisa isn't his work?
[15:25] <+fuh-zz> No, he simply put effort into it.
[15:25] <BBT_> are you really that retarded?

This site has had 50% downtime the past two days.
People have paid for facebook marketing so we can drive traffic to a site with 50% downtime, and screenshots of potatoes in space.

factoid wrote:QUOTE (factoid @ May 21 2014, 05:12 PM) To clarify. The problem with alleg isn't the engine, it's the art. Unless people really care about real time lighting, bump maps and shadows, the current engine will take higher quality models and textures, and that will be sufficient to make the game look good enough. That art would be property of their respective creators, and usable in my project to boot.

Yes, graphics matter. But only to a point. I still get a lot of milage out of bf1942 and quake 3.

The problem with current alleg IS the engine. Lack of modern model format support, cubersome exporting methods and lack of proper lighting/fancypants shaders. I am not saying that we will magically look good with new shiny engine alone, but it WILL set an environment where an artist can actually sit back and enjoy making a model, not spend 70% of his time trying to make it work and optimised with what we have now.

The problem with the current Alleg is @#(!ty website and lack of high res stuff and keymap in the game/installer.
Lighting and shaders in space will not produce any significant additional playerbase.
We just need the game to not look like potatoes in space, and not having a website looking equally russety.

You guys let Metz troll you once again. Get this back on track.

We want a website that doesn't suck so that we can measure the effects of our marketing campaign. Something as easy an installing google analytics will not be taken on by by pkk because webalizer is totally better. Apparently its better for Google Adwords or facebook campaigns too.

Basically, can't/won't do @#(! for the past 6 months.

Its time for a change. Either get @#(! done or get out of the way.

Dome is more than willing to get @#(! done, as he has demonstrated. And while i don't trust Metz (your heart and mind are in the right place, but its been held hostage by years of hard alcohol, drugs and questionable women - not judging, been there done that, just might want to try to get some @#(! together before your 40's) ... where was I? Yeah - Dome Awesome and metz has been a great cheerleader.

I'm not sure about you guys - but having an installer that doesn't restart 4 times before its installed would be sweet.

RECAP:
1. PKK Get active and fix @#(!. If not, get out of the way.
@#(! to fix -1. Google Analytics on Homepage. 2. Fix the homepage so that it doesn't look dead. Add a news block, a calendar, a facebook feed. 3. Update the Installer to not suck.

Now - what help do you need to accomplish this? Can you give the community an update as to where you are?

Word Filter = Sh*t

lol. I can't even believe most of what I just read.

Dome is willing to get @#(! done, what he can - unfortunately he doesn't possess the technical skills to get much effectively done at this point. Either do you. Dome does as best he can as events coordinator, given the current playerbase. He'll do well at marketing once some more technical things are done, first.

I haven't had a drink since Cinco De Mayo, I haven't done any "hard" drugs in like a year and a half(and when I do it's like once a year. and I rarely smoke weed) I've only been with a few women and I was in some manner of relationship with each of them, save one. I live alone at my own place and have like 2-4 jobs, depending on how you look at it. Tell me more about myself, please.

You're the cheerleader, I'm the quarterback, and now you're getting in my way.
