obviously i would want squads to agree to this. I would never broadcast something that a squad doesn't want broadcasted, but why deng couldn't state that and made such a curt statement, I don't know. Even if we just record locally and upload for review AFTER the game is over, this is the kind of thing alleg needs to create buzz . .. but if RT has no problem with the sysx side being broadcast, I'd like to give it a shot again.

I too don't need/want drama, so I ask sysx and rt to pm me with their squad's decisions. Basically, if they don't want it done at all, done only if not viewable until the game is done, only done if their side isn't broadcasted, only done if there is a 30 min delay, or fine with it live. i will abide by what the squads want, but i do ask that they make me aware of what they want so I don't waste time (I already have two hours into this) working on creating a really good way to do this (better than last time).

Well said.

I guess it'll get settled through leadership pm, but I doubt we'll have much issue with uploading a video afterwards

Apologies to Sai, I know it seems a bit passive aggressive of us but not all of RT are convinced that a delayed stream is a good idea. I'm going to kick some balls until opinions change because I agree that this is a golden opportunity to promote the game.

One quick question. Would you (or someone) be able to take the commentary and some fraps files and edit together an even better version for permanent download? I guess it depends on game length, a 4 hour slog would maybe not be great but a good 1 hour game with overview from the observers and cutting into onboard footage from the frapsers when appropriate would be cool.

Just to clear up the confusion spidey is apparently so fond of creating, I have no problem with the game as such being recorded, put up for download/streaming, having a commentator on our team (especially if it's MrC!) or using it for promotion and such. It's just the "live or with very limited delay" part that bothers me (and some of my fellow RTs).

(also, I want to be able to re-enjoy the match with commentary later, so I'd hope that even if it were to be live-streamed after all, there'd be a version for later download)

This would be totally awesome! I can already hear MrC's voice going "...and now you'll see how this dude can't hit @#(!.... a full clip spent and not a scratch on the enemy's hull, incredible!"

drama and a potential @#(!storm brewing... I may also make this less patible for some of RT

Just not worth it to me to be involved in this kind of mess any more

sorry Sai
Oh and for the record, MrC has not been mentioned at all in RT's internal discussion so I doubt that his involvement is in any way related to the reluctance of some RTs to have this livecast go ahead. personally I'd be happy to have MrC commenting from the RT side and I think I speak for all of RT in this.

Can we talk about why it bothers you? The best way to solve a problem is to get a dialogue going, in which one party attempts to clearly state why they have an issue with something, which can then be discussed and compromised into a situation acceptable to all. Saying "no, we're not comfortable with this" is far too vague to be helpful, and while I think everyone has a general idea of why you're not comfortable, it'd really help open up the communication if you were willing to take the liberty of elaborating a bit.
