I dunno about other devs but as far as I'm concerned I've stopped developing because I had no feedback / testing from the community, only the usual whining/drama.
Last year, I spent so many hours developing the 'alliance' system. Everyone seemed happy about this but no one helped to test when I asked.
I felt that my free / spare time given to this game was actually wasted more than anything else.
More recently, TE proposed me to take over the dev team as the new lead dev (ZL) and this was one of the reasons for which I declined the offer, at least for now.
Other reason was because I strongly disagree on other subjects relative to how this community is handled (the existence of 'hiders' and the baning/booting/enforcement system for instance). and another reason was that I would have had to ban 2 people from the current dev team.
so whatever, given all this, I really don't know if this game can survive another 10 years or not. But who knows what can happen...

Imago's been very active in the last few days in #freeallegiance (

) to get FAZ5Contrib to build (currently builds fine in VS05, VS08 and VS10, AFAIK) and he found some help to iron out a couple new bugs in the DX code. As far as I can see, he's working hard to bring FAZ Weds back

we will add a PPR aka Pay-per-rant - mode to the forum. 1€ per rant ($ will loose its value even more). That money will bring us in the position to get peter molineux as main development leader and a team of full payed devs. Sadly booting will be replaced by the slap-stroke system from B&W... nevertheless there will ne less bugs and a better graphics...
This will be the new
F3-view.
On this picture you can see a

In a few years we'll probably have to start working on an Allegiance II.
Basically rewriting the game for modern hardware. Not an impossible task, given the talent and dedication of our player pool. But in the short term we have big problems. I wish I was a programmer so I could help fix the current graphics card issues

KGJV, sounds like we need a dedicated test team as well as dev, or part of dev so that the dev continues to progress.

There's no need for a "dedicated team of testers", we just need to bring FAZ Weds back.
(If that means hacking up a few scripts in Python to help with registry I should be able to help, it shouldn't be rocket science.

)
