People seem to think its okay to drop comm on people and expect them to command, if you keep doing it expect me to change the settings to 9/2.5 and rush rix dests. LEARN TO STOP DROPPING COMM ON PEOPLE.

Nah : 1st set faction to bios, make sure the other comm who has GC goes rix on 2.5/out9 then drop comm on IB and quickly join the other team (preferably also set imbalance to N/A) then punch it before IB gets his hands out of his pants and goes NOAT /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

revirdraw wrote:QUOTE (revirdraw @ Jun 28 2007, 04:54 PM) Speaking as a noob, I can tell you how horrid it would be to have to play only with other noobs for any extended period. I would of probably left if I didn't join the non-noob server when I did. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for a comm to have us (or non-team players) on their server. I can, however, tell you how frustrating it is playing with only other noobs. I'm not sure that you can relate to that (maybe you can?) -- but I'd rather gouge out my own eyes with a spork then play lots of games with other noobs.
I don't hate noobs or newbs, I just hate the ones who don't listen to orders and think they can command better than I can. Seriously if us vets had to boot every noob that uses the voice command :
-"need better weapons" when a team already has adv tech
-"negative" or press del whenever we order them to do something usefull
-"need capitol ships"

then we'd be flying newbless in 5 minutes /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

What is also really $#@!ing annoying is newbs that stop donating, newbs that think they can drive a bomber and newbs that keep rushing into camped alephs feeding the killbonus of the peeps on the other side. There are some very useful newbs who try their best and follow orders, those guys can fly for me anytime. The ones who think that the commander is just there to buy them heavy ints and should STFU and not order them around can kiss my ass and will find themselves in the lobby after being booted. Personally I think BV's booting policy has gone a bit overboard but there are maybe 3 persons in Alleg that we have to thank for BV's carebear policies. If those asswipes hadn't abused their comm powers we'd still be able to boot newbs without having to fill out a form in triplet /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

This is such an old old argument and it will always be with allegiance.

I stopped commanding back in the day when I broke a joystick (slammed it on my desk about 15 times and woke my whole house up) because of the frustration levels that come with commanding.

There is never going to be a magic bullet for fixing these issues. The community can only produce so many commanders (and a BIG thank you to everyone that commands whether you are good or not, it takes guts and patience to get into the big chair). I think the best we can hope for is a 'intermediate' server that is more neutral ground for up and comming commanders.

Prime time on the main vet servers are not a good place to try out new commanders (mainly speaking of noobs and voobs, vets that want to give it a go shoud). HOW to make this happen is outside of my experience and I can't really think of a good way to do this unless you could restrict a server to Intermidate and Noobs Only to give them time to feel the frustration (just keep the vets out and away, sorry guys but you are the hardest on the noobs and voobs, new and returning players are a bit more chill about these types of issues UNTIL they try on the main prime time servers /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ). Without the vets support new commanders will always crash and burn but at the same time its not really fair to ask the long time players to give up their game time to be patience with a newish commander.

Maybe a rank imbalance setting for the command chair? If there is X difference between each teams commands you are locked in to using people of that rank, i.e. a Rank 10 commands yellow so only a player with a rank between 8-12 could take over command?

I can happily say I've never done those VC's.

I hope I fit in this category, if I'm ever not following orders it's due to my missing the order and not a willful disregard.

I wish the commander came across as something more then bold and different tone. What, I have no idea.. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
