I think a bit more info is necessary here.
The only way to finish it sooner was hvy int bombing before upping the sup, but I was thinking it probably would not work. Throughout the game you were able to maintain impressive camps. That camp for our op con midlow to low by your home (one sector away from your nearest base!) was epic and it never got broken despite us having hvy ints.
I decided to get the sup and up it, as in my opinion that was the best (most failproof) strategy to secure more he, (and he was what we needed to win) and the gas + boosters are quite nice. Mining was tough, we had limited access to he, and spending all the remaining money on tech (bbrs, htts, adv cons), being left without money, and finding out that what I got is not working was not what I wanted. When I comm, I comm to win.
As I stated earlier, by the time we got galves, we were already scraping rocks and had only 2 miners. After galving your ops, we had no econ to speak off, we had to scrape for the op midhigh. I decided to expand midhigh and midlow to secure the he, and get a third miner to speed things up. That's 14k right there and this decision can hardly be questioned.
Why not tp2 fbees ? Cause once again I thought it to be an inferior strat to adv sy con push, and I thought we would have trouble pulling this off given how well you guys were doing up to that point. Nonetheless, just look at the numbers:
cost of fbees after upping the sup (when we had no econ and had hard time affording galves + mp1):
- 10k for bbbrs, 5k for fbees, 2.5k for lt boost, 2.5 cruise boost
- that is 20k spent that we didn't have, and ab2, missl dmg1 and 2, sm3 brings it up by another 11.5k
- tp2 fbees? on top of 31.5k we have to add 10k to up the garr, 5k for tp2, 4k for rip gas, which brings us to 50.5k.... not to even mention adv scouts, and spending all this money and going in this direction would not be as powerful a strat as getting the sy
cost of what I did:
- enh/adv cons (don't remember it but I guess its around 10k), rip for midhigh to speed up the pushing process (~3k), sy (~18k?)
That is 32k. I mined and expanded as efficiently as possible, and yes, walking a basic op to midlow for mining, walking enh op and rip to midhigh, walking the miners (we had no rips midlow or midhigh) took time. Also, remember that it was on 1.0. By the time our sy went up, our miners docked after mining middle, and we had to wait 4 mins for frigs.
The argument that getting tp2 would be faster is completely unwarranted.
Up to the moment your ops died, you were putting up quite a fight so I tailored my strategy to what I saw and I didn't forsee that your morale would sink so much (which manifested in you letting us mine midhigh uncontested and not probing up which made the con push so easy). In retrospection, I could have just gotten an op for midlow for mining, and mine for adv cons and another op con, push it to your exp and bomb from it. This would not have worked against the team you were for first 30 minutes though.
People who were on the other team and didn't know how the situation looked on our end should have given us the benefit of the doubt rather then come up with accusations. Especially that such comments cloud the fact that it was a massive, very good, even AS wise game (I remember it being 280 to 300 when I checked). The first 40 minutes were superbly intense and some outstanding teamwork on both sides. GG and well done.
I never realized that comming might be about keeping both teams happy
