Anyone running an older Radeon Pro series (9700) that downloaded and installed?

I'm running an ATI 9600 Series on Win XP. My frame rates jumped from 60fps to ~100-110 in game, flying and a little higher in F3 view. Several artifacts, but nothing that was not already mentioned. Driver: ati2dvag.dll version 6.14.0010.6727 according to dxdiag.

The first time I did crash in the first couple of minutes in a test (solo) game. But restarted, and played a solo game for a bit, then a main game (start to finish) without crashing, etc. I tried anti-aliasing 4x in the last game. (none in the first two)

oh... I used the first dx9 dll posted by db, not the one Grimm linked to.

I am running a 3.0 GHz P4 w/ a Radeon 9700 Pro Mobile using the Ultima (3rd party) drivers. There are no updated radeon 9700 pro mobile drivers, thus the 3rd party. I have 2 graphical issues thus far. Running at 1200x800, 8x AA, Vsync on, 512 textures.

My wireless internet tray icon blinks into the game whenever I am in my ship. 3 times i have had the game suddenly exit (crash to ASGS w/ no error message) when switching sectors in the F3 screen. Otherwise, this is great work, thank you dog and dev team! Lobby looks so clean with anti aliasing.

I didn't notice any graphical glitches beyond the odd transparencies and the missing door, however I didn't get podded so.. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I'm using Windows XP Sp2, 7900GT w/ latest NVPerfHUD drivers

Worked for me.

XP Pro
8600 Card
1920x1200 Resolution.

Only error I saw was the gauge smearing and the black hole.

Didn't play around much ... used the suggested setting.

Note: I play in Windowed mode for a while and it worked well.

Working for me. (I <3 you, it's been months).
8800 GT, AMD chipset.

Ran without vertical sync on (Accident, but thought I'de let ya know). Also I missed the windowed button, so it ran in windowed at first. Toggling mouse control didn't work (But it was stated not to run in windowed, which I'm sure this is one reason why /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. ).

The DX9 worked for me.

AND IT WAS WICKED AWESOME!! /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

SMOOTH MOTION, GRAPHICS BOOST, BRIGHTER EXPLOSIONS /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

But unfortunately it takes a long time to load the program itself. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

...What's that big black box in the spacecraft selection screen?

WinXP, 7300GT, newest drivers
800x600

Works flawlessly with only minor glitches mentioned earlier.
Gun particles look weird as well, quite square-ish when far, different than original when close.
I don't see anyone mentioning this weird option enabling auto mipmaps - everything seems a bit blurred when turned on.

Regarding Intel GMA cards:
I'm a former user of GMA900. They obviously lack TnL and (afair) hardware vertex support. However, as it is possible to run eg. Oblivion by using program called 3D-Analyze (set to emulate HW TnL caps) coders should simply disable/ignore DX9 checks concerning HW capabilities. These cards support PS2.0 though... extraordinary design /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
This affects all Intel integrated chips, including newer GMA3100.

Forgot to mention, I get stable ~100fps (peak 140, limited by Vsync). However from time to time it drops practically to 0 for a fraction of a second and then returns to normal, usually happens during rapid turns.

I haven't tried running an actual game, just fiddling around in training modes. I got 200+ fps @800x600 with 4x AA and 1024 textures on my 9600pro mobile (XP)

At the completion of a game (Going from in game to stats screen) Alleg crashed and I got the Vista "This program has stopped working" (annoying) message.

Vertical Sync on, 800x600 res, 4x AA. I was in flight at the time of the game ending.

"• Allegiance exited with code: x5c9b035fed62d487"

Hope this helps, will see if I can recreate.
