I speak for the people with ambition and goals. You have none. Go be pathetic somewhere else.

I would do EVERYTHING on my own if I had to, but it turns out I do not.

AEM already has 2 domains, a website, and a gameserver. I have the Windows Server license. I can set up a new forum, and host AEM's site if he wants.
We'll just need to setup the server lobby and ACSS on AEM's server or another, and point ACSS appropriately.

Could be done in a few days time.

Sorry, Mr. Hillbilly, what exactly are your ambitions and goals that let you talk from a high horse?

In that respect all that's needed are two things. Either ask PKK to redirect www.freeallegiance.org to AEM's site, which can link back to the /forums URL. Or just use the new domain for ads and stuff. That's really up to AEM when he feels that's ready. Installer can be hosted from there, ACSS can just stay where it is.

Is ACSS hosted on CSS?

Last time I spoke with TE, he told me freeallegiance.org will point to wherever the community happens to be.
Which is to say, when we move, he will redirect traffic.
I don't think there's any good reason why we should not free TE (and his friend?) from the burden of dedicating their resources for a game they don't even play (and nobody plays, at this point)
when there's an easy alternative that will leave us with many more options

I'ts been well over a year, now. When I actually see Star Citizen functioning,I'll believe the hype.

They didn't get enough people to step up.We DO need an over seer-type and right now that is Dome.Pkk, and Paps are also working on things, but they, like myself are also busy and can only devote so much time.I'm glad Masta is willing to devote more time to the game.I hope we can co-ordinate between everybody to get things done.
One thing I'd hope for on AEM's website is an actual forum where we can meet if this one goes down for too long.Right now his forums re-direct back to here.

You need a "full" license server (which makes it more costly). Server 2003 is being phased out, so that leaves you with a server 2008 (or better) if you want to stick on the Windows platform.

The cheapest way for hosting might be a *nix based cloud (amazon whatever) and use that to update / distribute the game, authenticate users (bans etc), the forum and email handling. It also means you have to convert / make Alleg V2 for said *nix platform. It frees you of the burden to manage hardware yourself, making backups and offers better protection against evil haxors. The Alleg backbone ecosystem is not lag critical, unlike the game server itself.

Whatever system you chose, please... Share the burden with an uneven number of persons you fully trust. The last thing you want is a stalemate on issue X, rage quitters who pull the plug, or the "owner" who dies in the future with no one able to take over the project.
Very good points.

I stepped up for senatorship and was getting voted in, and then PKK vetoed me for "Aggressive behavior".
Then we had a senate for 5 minutes and then it died. Big surprise there.
a senate for a community this small is stupid, anyway.
especially when the senate still has no access or way of getting access to the things needing accessed to actually move forward.

Dome and I stepped up for ACS after Cashto had hostaged it for an entire year.
Publicly, Cashto said he'd gladly give it up. Privately, he convinced PKK to let him keep it.
Another year later...not a single grad or even a student. Great work PKK and Cashto.

Cashto really should just be banned.
