Do gunships need a nerf? I never see them being used outside of bios, and you can still live without them if you got a techbase early. I also never see gs win games. So why the nerf?

Just a note on implementation: I think the ideal way to do this would be to add the outstanding changes into CC 3.5 and then release CC 4.0 with the new SY structure after that. You'll need to do multiple updates over the course of a week or two to try and find balance in any reworking like this as the odds are you won't hit on it first time of trying. That's a big admin commitment so only attempt this at a time when there's someone to make the core changes and TEs free to upload the new cores each time.

Give Giga a Drydock.
That's something they've needed for a long time!
Maybe have heavy cloak 3 available for research in a Drydock option AFTER Assault Ship is purchased.
That would be cool for that.

Bios GS Bomb. You can have gs up around 10 min mark. If they don't have enh tech yet, you can just march into their home with 2 gs, 1 bbr and 4 nans, and they will not be able to stop you.
GunShip miner hunts. With lt boost, gs can go 150 for long periods of time. Miners are not good vs skycap.
I have done GS bombing myself a few times, and once I even managed to kill a sup through a camped aleph vs enh tech. I have also been a victim of gs miner hunts, and they are deadly too.

If Bios gs rush is such a strong tactic, why is it so rarely used in squadgames? Is it because it's actually unreliable?

As I remember, this is the community core, as such it's mainly interested in serving the interests of the majority of the games in the community - i.e. not squad games.
If a change is helpful for both squad games and normal games, then all the better, but the intention of the core is to serve normal games, so squad game performance isn't the yard stick in use.
I'll make some comments about SY and my changes when I get time (have a lot of uni work ATM)

This week count the number of times Bios gs rush is used, and count how many times it wins. I haven't seen Bios in well over a week, and if it's one comander who's consistantly winning with bios gs rush I guess we better nerf GT sup.
