I couldn't care less about rank. Rank really has @#(! to do with the current leaderboard other than the order the names are in. It's about numbers numb nuts. Take your soapbox to rants.

I don't care about ranks, but in my opinion, awarding points for naning (helping your team) would offer an incentive for players to do that (think of all the incentives offered in TF2 to the medics)

Hmm. That makes me think of making it more like a zero sum situation. We shouldn't just have base kills recorded, we should record when a friendly base/miner/con/blah dies and you're in the sector.

EDIT: Or you're DMing in some other sector while your sup is being bombed. -Because I suspect someone else will add this anyway.

If you're in the mood for changing how KB works, here's a suggestion. Let KB grow for each minute spent in game, rather than for each kill you get. That gives three benefits:
- you lose the incentive to whore aimlessly
- everybody, including suckers who can't get any kill, will be motivated to avoid dying
- Exp is nerfed! Yay!
