Hi Fuzzy,

Can you PM me with details like: Did you encouter a crash, or if it couldn't recognize your voice, or if recognized some commands, and not others, etc. If there's something I can fix for you, I will.

I have read some articles about the Speech engine that say for best results use a powered microphone (like a usb headset). I was able to get it work fine with a cheap-o condenser mic on my old SoundBlaster 16.

Thanks for checking it out!

Not so good for me....and I had high hopes.

First, I did 3 or 4 of the training lessons (I live in Alabama, so thought I'd be safe). For one or two word commands, it works very well (e.g. affirmative, negative, etc). For multiple word commands, it seems to get lost. For example, when I try "need pickup", I say "need" and it jumps down to "Need more fighters" when I immediately say "Pickup" it jumps to "pickup tech". I tried speaking slower and faster without much success. Also, It seems to recognize some commands when I simply say the first word. Wonder if i'm doing it correctly? I will continue to play with it. P.S. This was not in-game, but just in the application when you start it. I wonder if there is a way to train the chats themselves?

Hi Fishbone,

The UI bounces around lighting various aoptions so that you can see what it's guessing at. I may change this next release so that it only changes when you get a match. If you watch it, you can tell when it actually matches when a lit light bulb appears next to the grammer. A dim light bulb means that it's attempting to guess, but isn't sure. If you could, please retry your test. This time, have notepad open as the active application, and watch what chords the application would have played appear in notepad. You should see it outputting the correct commands as you go. Let me know how it works out for you.

Thanks for your help!

Same result. One word phrases, nails em. Saying the first word of a multi-word phrase works for some. Most multiword phrases, it usually sends multiple, wrong commands. Almost like the thing needs to wait to hear the entire phrase, THEN search rather than searching while I'm talking. I'll try a few more of the voice training sessions and see if it helps. It may just be me backtrack, so don't put too much stock in the problem I'm having unless others start having it as well /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Actually Fishbone, I think I had the same problem, despite doing only 1 extra training session. Even if this isn't my problem, maybe you should add something along the lines of a 'time limit'. The quickest thing I can think of to relate this to is the 'double-click time' in Windows. It allows you to choose how fast you must double click for it to register.

Just a thought,

Awesome idea..much easier than browsing through the VCs for a newbie like me. (I'll have to fix my broken microphone /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />)

Are you sure Bunny is speaking English? As a life long Texan, I've NEVER been accused of speaking English. I've been speaking Texan for as long as I can remember. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Hi Spade,

You should be able to use this while in a ship with out any issues. The only bug I have identified, is using the "Channel *" commands while in a ship change you to the wrong channel. All the default commands *should* work just fine from all points in the game.

Do you have any new bugs that you have found that I don't have on my initial posting? I'd really like to have them so that I can put together a stable release.

Thanks again for your help, I've received a lot of good input so far from you all!
