Situation.

6v6.

We are being bombed. Our Adv Exp just died and we are left with GT figs to D with. Defi and a couple of players have our home aleph camped with prox while we get our next exp up in middle (IO). Meanwhile, DP, who claimed to a) read the entire academy b) wanted to get better, took a fig the long route (back sector, side sector and then into left) and dogfighted one of their nans for ~2 mins. Bomber rips to a hidden tele in our new exp sector and we scramble back to base, get our heavy ints and waste the run.

Meanwhile, DP gets podded by belter scout and says "DAMMIT YOU COULDVE HELPED!". "We were defending." "NO, I WAS DEFENDING IN THE SECTOR WITH THE BOMBER!". "We were following comm's orders" (who was already pissed because we ignored one of his warnings and got the exp blown in the first place). "AND WHAT DID YOU DO/ACCOMPLISH?". At this point, someone goes "STFU and fly!". One of us tries to explain to him, but he started a tirade which went on and on and on and on (basically the same thing he said here - how he's a veteran of several online games, admins many forums blah blah blah).

Dude. Don't get us started mmkay? We do more than any other online game out there to help newbs. What we don't like are overconfident smartasses who think they know their ass from their mouth because "they've played games for 15 years".

Forget Mr. Darkpriest666+1's post, he is just looking for goats imho.

If that wasn't the case, he would have answered the, by now, many replies he got (not goat).

Hey I was commind that game Immortal =).

It was actually 10v10, but most of the rest of those statements were accurate.

What I find funny, is in the same game, (IO) Dark tries to find the middle aleph from the middle... as we all know that is nearly impossible.

He says he can't find it, and I explain to him that it is very difficult to find on that map, and he seems to understand.

But then, he is flying a GT fig all game when we have GT hvy ints.... so for all his claims, the one time he asked me about something, I explained it to him (i.e. people are willing to help those who are willing to ask)... and he just was too sure of his ability which was obviously lacking.

ok now i get it. this is the kind of guys who 'roxx at starcraft'

real gamer vets shut the $#@! up and learn. after they learn they build a rep. after they build a rep, they own.

you don“t deserve to own, because you cannot shut and learn.

Isn't that a over-all charactistic that all newbies who post this kind of thread and leave have? /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

P.S. i think we can lock this thread now, he's not going to come back and read it

His attitude is quite easy to tell from his first post.

"I've read all there is to read about the game" (I know as much as you do)
"I'm an admin on a bunch of different sites" (My e-peen is bigger than yours)
"I post a lot on those sites" (My e-peen is WAY bigger than yours)
"Poopoo heads" (I'm 13)

All translates to: I can't handle someone telling me that I'm doing something wrong, so I'm leaving.

And my response: Have a good one.

If you are an admin to soo many different sites, you should know that there are asshats everywhere. This time you stumbled across a community with more mature asshats with better insults. Cry me a river. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

Seriously, if you want to leave for good, just do it. I left World of Warcraft without a good-by post. X-Wars was left behind with out a good bye. Imperium Galactica II had the devs bash newbs for fun. I left without a goodbye note. Just shut up and search for a "better" game. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Heh, TB's got it totally right.

There's two types of newbs....

1) Newbies who are humble and don't assume anything nor have an idiotic ego. These tend to stick around. These we love and nurture.
2) n00bs who think they know something or are entitled to whatever respect or treatment they demand. We don't need this type and they eventually get their asses handed to them one way or another.

Unfortunately, most newbs come in the latter variety and remove themselves thanksfully, some with a quiet whimper and others with an annoying "your community sucks" forum post.
