Most used factions, highest winning percentages.
I wasn't condescending, simply stating an obvious fact. After all, this discussion was here several times already, the last time almost a year ago.
Think of it this way: You're trying to balance two stacks of books on scales, and notice one side is heavier. What do you do? Do you just modify one side, or both?
(avatar hopefully fixed now)
While that is mostly true (not always, even though it is now), the other side of the coin isn't - when a faction has a low win percentage, it doesn't necessarily need work. IC losing a lot is in no way indicative of it needing work.jgbaxter wrote:QUOTE (jgbaxter @ Jan 27 2007, 08:06 PM) YP, the point is, that those factions that have those high win numbers are widely accepted as needing work.

RT: The number of typical responses decreases exponentially as the number of joke options increases.

Deng, IC does need work, however, that's just as easily accomplished from the other side of the scale. By reducing TF effectiveness (which Noir has iirc almost finalized for dn0460) and rolling back a perk or two for Bios, IC will of course have a higher win percentage... how much in this case only time will tell. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
(especially regarding ICvTF, I personally think that IC tends to go exp v TF and that tends to be a bloody mess)

n.b. I may not see a forum post replied to me or a pm sent to me for weeks and weeks...
for all the harping about win percentages i still think that noir does whatever the f*** he feels like doing. Feedback from the community, and win percentages just factor into what happens to faction attributes.
YP that is a good chart, a good way to display which factions tend to better against other factions. If you really want to get nick picky, you could weight the games according to theri variance from "optimal" money settings for any faction. IE going rix on low, verylow. It can be done, its just kinda ugly.

Please, don't add any more cheese to the game.
IF you are going to give IC any perks you could increase their con speed a touch. Other than that, I think most of the win% problem has more to do with people not understanding how to use IC.
Vans - do something about them. They are WAY too powerful. If a team gets vans up and aren't completely boxed in, its basically lights out for the other team. I've seen two games now where one side was working Phoenix over with Advanced figs and all of the trimmings. As soon as Vans were up there wasn't anything the advanced figs could do. Granted, Phoenix's win% is on the low end as well, but I could probably command Phoenix 10 times in a row and go for vans every time and win 8 of them. Perhaps the rest of Phoenix needs a perk, but Vans need something changed. At least make them cost something per ship. Anything... PLEASE :beg:
Other than that (and what you have planned for Bios) I think that the distribution shown on the Faction win/loss statistics is pretty good.

No, $#@! you.Noir wrote:QUOTE (Noir @ Feb 4 2007, 02:17 AM) Definate changes are nerfs for ... Nix (Vans) ...

its not really the vans that need nerfing, its the T (ok, vans could have a little nerf)
tranciever is almost impossible to kill, i've seen huge bomb runs on them fail vs vans, the bombers did get like 6 abs (perhaps ab3, cant remember) and it didn't die (it was close, but didn't). half tranciever hull and shield
