More people seemed to be playing when forums were down, probably due to the reason suggested by OP.

if you do remove it, just take it off forum but allow it to run from its original location, otherwise playerbase predictor will cease to work

Since the only logged in person,at this moment was a (2) nub, NOONE OF THOSE WHO CHECKED THE FORUMS LOGGED IN (except me, that is).
