We need a graph of number of players online.
Put that in the game news feed thingie, win.

A newbie won´t find it unless you shove it up their faces (don´t expect them to waste their time browsing the forums just to try an old game, they will go and install another free game). Probably a big red hyperlink beside the Launch button in ASGS/ACSS would be the best choice if we think this is the problem...

Build it into ACSS. Steam has this big ol' players online graph immediately to the right of the window.

ACSS or FAO frontpage graph like in EVEOnline....

Probably a good idea, but probably as well the ACSS team already have their plate full... If we already have a working tool as Elzam pointed out, let us make it more visible by just linking it. In the long run, a more permanent solution can be coded in.

No Elzam, what you did was a really bad thing to do. What kind of a pessimist thinks it's smart to badmouth something in a message that is intended to generate interest and draw in new players?

I was really surprised to see you do that.

As for the "no more submarines" thing, it's perfectly possible and valid to play PuGs with TAC and SY turned off, especially when playing with less experienced commanders and players.

Why don't you just turn off sup, tac, and sy? Because games generally turn into that anyway

Haven't seen to much EXP lately actually, more sup and even tac right now. Although we are really lacking players so SY is more or less perma-off.

Forgive my ignorance, but when was the last time somebody asked Microsoft for the drivers keys, so to speak? Maybe that would help with the development of the game. All the "popular" games have ongoing and visible development cycles.

And I am not volunteering at this time (RL), but I think we would start seeing a lot more players if we actually worked on SEO and the website more. Let's face it: this site is so 1990's...
