That's actually a good point with the low-ish development we have had.
You need one forum for high importance and/or security based things to happen, this could be the Dev. ZL's office.
The Dev. Lounge hasn't provided any useful service for the past year or so, so there may be a point to closing it, and just leaving it there as an archive for past discussions etc.
I'm slightly against opening it up as people have in the past posted contact details in there and info. on exploits etc. There may be personal information that people didn't want shared with the whole community.
We would have to find and remove stuff like that before opening it out I guess, which would be unnecessary work.
The Developers could mostly work through trac and the open forums going forward I guess.

And everyone how asks for access to that forum currently gets access...

And noone asks.
In the last 5 months, I've added a grand total of ONE person to the group that can see that forum.
That being said, I just peeked into both the developer's lounge and the "office" and don't see any personal contact information laying around anywhere.
Unlike the ZL forum and the @Alleg forum, there is no sticky with contact info in it and the first page of threads in the lounge doesn't appear to have anything either. (There are only 9 threads in the "office" and most of those are from the dogbones era so there's not even a full page there.)

I like nj's idea of opening it as a readonly archive.

Honestly I don't see a reason to open it. Just hide it from everyone.
