The most straightforward solution would be just to grow a third or fourth arm.

Ooooyes. I should go in a real US fighter and rip the controls off. Would make a nice gaming joystick.

Or you just make a house out of an f16, live in it and put a widescreen in the cockpit and play allegiance all DAY!
Okay so it would take a little more rewiring than that but still :P

Edit: On second thought a B2 is more appropriate for living space :P

you can download mine at my site and drop it right into your

c:\program files\microsoft games\allegiance\artwork folder (hope i got this right...)

go to http://spathiwa.com/ and look for the keyboard icon at the top of the page... right click, save as...

one day, i'll get around to generating a visual representation of what keys are mapped where but the main reason why i mapped my keys the way i did (modified fps for 3d environment) was to allow pressing multiple sidethrust keys (+boost) at the same time w/o having to make uncomfortable finger contortions.

Seriously, start using ESDF (instead of WASD) and map QAZWRTGVCX to important stuff.

From an @Help perspective, the default keymap is probably the biggest issue for newbies. My typical question when flying with brand new players on the newb servers is "do you know how to use side thrust?", and the answer is universally no. Having the default controls be a little more intuitive (read: closer to standard FPS) would seriously help people get into the game.
