Yes but it's volume that makes a big difference.

try to search a hidden rescue and try to search two hidden tf-beacons for the same price and you will notice which one is overpowered.

It doesn't...

RP vs Scout:
RP spots Scout (175%) at 1750 m.
Scout spots RP (10%) at 240 m.

Beacon vs Scout:
Beacon spots Scout (175%) at 875 m.
Scout spots Beacon (5%) at 120 m.

No one buys EWS 3 for the same reason no one buys Prox 3: there's more important things to spend your money on. Hell, unless it's vs. exp, sup teams never buy gat3 or dumb3, should we lower the price on those? Plus no one buys Prox2, and you're not complaining about the price of Prox2 :P

But I wouldn't mind applying what was supposed to be the general sup tech price decrease.
No one buys prox 3 in an exp v exp game for the same reason no one buys mini 3.

If it is exp vs something else, and the game is still even, you better bet that prox 3 is on the shopping list (esp vs galv runs).

Halve the cost of ews (like the rest of sup tech) and call it a day.

"no one ever buys..." is a good reason for perking something. We perked retro-boost for similar reasons. No use and Not buying show a tech is considered to be undervalued. Your right in that the communities perception of said tech as undervalued may be wrong, if thats the case why not go out and win a bunch of games with the undervalued tech? Change some minds yo! I do believe that if after 8 years of playing certain tech are not used it is likely because they ARE under powered. Especially if we can't change the minds of other people by showing them tech is undervalued.

Perhaps Probe range and sig should be a SUP upgrade instead of a tech which can be lost.. this will give better intel to the game.
At the same time give RP the same tech setup as normal probes?
After all Probes are crucial to the game.

No no no. That's exactly my point. "No one ever buys ..." is an equally strong argument for removing something entirely from the game.

Just because someone put in some junk technology no one ever buys doesn't mean that Alleg would be better if only that tech were useful. There may, in fact, be no balanced or interesting way to make that tech useful.

Nor should all tech have equal cost/utility ratio. The price of EWS3 should never be brought so low that one puzzles whether to by adv figs or EWS3. It's okay for there to be tech only in use by super-rich teams -- so long as that tech gets used by the team (not always the case with things like EMP mines and retro boost).

You are wrong. Scanrange GA effects ships, bases and probes (everything)...

So why has BIOS EWS 1 a scanrange of 575 m?
