Being stuck with a 15 when I was brand new was pretty frustrating for me, and I'm sure it's confusing for lots of players (especially in terms of the newbie server). I'm glad to hear that this problem is now fixed. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

ROFL I'm a novice 4 with 12 wins and 24 defeats!!!! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I was at 11 wins and 15 defeats before I think...
Pook.... I'm a fan of all the effort you're putting into this and have never complained before; I don't think I have a big ego but when I have a rank of novice 4.... something is wrong.
Edit - having seen some of the people below me, eg Culm, Pico.... I feel I'm not the best example /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I guess I'm equating old-school novice 4 with current novice 4 which isn't a fair comparison.

Gandalf, they're not comparable.
In the old system, if you were a vet and a Novice 4, that would mean that you REALLY sucked - bad.
In the new system, being a novice 4 could mean that you just don't have enough playtime in. You only have 36 games played. Aarm's up at the top of the leaderboard with almost 300... and he's an Expert 2 with just under 5000 points. the curve gets really steep up in Expert - you need 10000 points to hit Expert 9. So, while he's made it into the Expert range - he's really at the midpoint, only halfway to Expert 9.
Don't get me wrong - if you really suck your rank will still be lowish... you have to win to go up in rank. But given the "helper" you get at the lower ranks nobody with any skill should find themselves stuck down there unless they simply don't have the games in.

It *is* possible for me to recalc again discounting those games, but at this point I think that folks are starting to get a little hostile at the rank changes and I'm better off letting it sit for awhile and watching what happens.
The code change HAS been made, however - so if and when there is another recalculation of the ranks those < 10 games will no longer count.

You say I haven't played enough? OK then, can I have a 500 point bonus for having had an operation on my arm rendering me firstly unable to play for 3 weeks and now unable to fly with my normal hand on the mouse? Seriously though... how do points relate to ranks? You mentioned it's steep at the Expert levels, how about lower down? And will we be able to see our actual point total?

And pook i think you might want to consider erase the point gained if the game's not counted. When i say that i refer to this: recent game
From that, we can tell that game is not counted. However, it's still showing the points gained and lost all together as a team. When elo was in place, if it didn't count it shouldn't say anything like -13 or +13 at all. When we switch system, won't it still be useless to show it? It just give me a feeling that that game did count while i understand it didn't. Just a suggestion /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />
p.s. if you do a recalculation i'm going to be back to (0) again (i'm pretty sure) since i have more than 80 games that's less than 10 players. I was actually confused for a second because another game that counted has finished between your post and me clicking the link... so I was like "wtf that game counted, what's she talking about" but I get it.
