Those pilots have been recently added to the perma ban list:
Nightrychune, Mastametz, GreyVulpine, Kumquat
No-one else. No, even though some rumours say otherwise, Noir was not perma-banned.
There was no discussion going on about banning anyone for life before the whole friday incident. It was obviously some rumour.
The perma bans have been given for the good of the community. The senate will review them and change them if necessary. Until then the banned pilots will remain banned.

Will the community soon be privy to the reasons behind which these permanent bans were instated?

i am sorry pooky and thal but they are parts of the community, we all need to take the good and the bad ..

that is a very interesting point.
i could respond, "but doesnt good allways win and everyone lives happily ever after?" (or if pook was around, he would respond with that and say the ban stays)
i understand your worried about loosing friends.
that post totally reminds me of a film.
one where one of the charicters is a civilian and is trying to stop a general pressing a button that does something.
"your making a terrible mistake"
but the general has his orders and does it
some bad things happen, some people are lost
but it works out in the end, though could have worked out better.
allegiance will certainly be different if they all get banned, were loosing some large figures in the community, we've allready lost

were not just talking about some random kid who comes in and tries to hack the servers, or start a revolt (remember that new guy who basically asked the admins to resign saying that they sucked and he could do a better job?)
wre talking about people who have been here for years, who have played parts in making the community what it is today, for better or worse.

GreyVulpine is Squadless.

Just so you know, those dates are the dates we joined the forums. Some of us have been around since 2000.

Many of us look forward to these updates.
Where should we watch for them?

Permabans aren't on the list because they'd probablytake up too much space for "recent" bans. Perhaps a list of permanent bans would be appropriate, however. Sounds more like general forum tweaking than direct Senate-style acton, but worth having done.
jgbaxter wrote:QUOTE (jgbaxter @ Oct 14 2006, 03:23 PM) permabanned; Gunz22, Fs_Black, Nightrychune, Mastametz, GreyVulpine, and Kumquat.
Is that everyone that's been permabanned?
Whether that was a serious question or not, it's actually probably relevant and should be looked into.
Imago was, but I think he was allowed to return. Someone else would have to check on that. I believe Virus remains permabanned as well. We've had at least 3 people flash-in-the-pan permabanned people; "KB is cheating face the facts" <-- that guy, for example, and another who said ASGS is so full of holes he could hack through it in his sleep (and otherwise caused trouble) -- so Pook invited him to try by giving him a ban to crack through. I suspect there are others, but many were very short-lived stays so they aren't remembered.
Bottom line -- we've had
more bans based on forum behavior and general mischief making than for direct cheating. Guns22 and FS_Black are simply the best known permabans, not the only ones which have occured.
