Shizoku wrote:QUOTE (Shizoku @ Feb 24 2015, 01:59 AM) Is this true? The best gimballed multicannon for the viper is actually like 14k? Seems idiotic that they wouldn't have higher class weapons available. What's the point in making money then?
Surely a medium gimbaled multicannon costs a lot more than that?
And yeah, there used to be overcharged, high impact etc etc pimped weapons, and full range of qualities. Some thrice damned fool at Frontier decided to turn the options off. I think they got scared that the game was too complex, and would confuse the damn casuals. Please post on the forum about it. We can make them put the variants back in.

is this recent? agri did have a couple of slightly upgraded pulse lasers (18k fixed rather than 4k fixed) and was wondering why they popped eagles slower nowadays
also agri found a gas giant 0.02 AU out from its parent star today - its orbital period was 14
hours.
finally agri discovered christina santini today. how fit is she?

Cool, I was wondering if there were hot Jupiters in the game.
Oh, and she's more your type than mine.

Good news. The weapon variants are not currently on offer, because they had some issue with people's saves. If somebody has kept hold of their old overcharged, etc weapons, they do still exist.... but in the future, there will be a system that works like in the Borderlands games, and weapons will have procedurally generated variants with strengths and weaknesses, as well as varying overall quality. Until then, we're stuck with the stock ones.

You're better off upgrading. Twice the cargo, way more shields, armor, speed, and two more weapon slots.

Here's a mod that adds VLC overlay to the game. Still being worked on, but it supports video and can be resized.

this, really. the only choice sidewinder folk have is to either go for a viper or save a bit more and go straight for the cobra

Actually the Adder is a very nice ship, and for staying in a light fighter, the Eagle is very cool.
The ship balancing is a little level based, unfortunately, but I do love flying the sidey. It's a yummy little ship. All I wish for is more speed.

Now, where do I go from the Viper?
I have an Adder sitting on the side for mining purposes, but I don't know what combat ship I should get next.
Anyone have any particular "favorite spots" they stick around to? I just packed up from the starting area and went to the Empire sectors to check them out. Trying to find a new home.
