So are you getting it with every ship? What graphics card do you have?Lutra wrote:QUOTE (Lutra @ Feb 26 2011, 12:12 AM) I get the jitter effect when I play Allegance... I always assumed every ship was like that

Depending on what "jitter" means, I think I'm having this problem too. A Dreg pod was lagjumping around so much the other day that I couldn't land a single bullet on it from 200 meters away - despite a 44ms ping and 0% packet loss. I've been having these problems for a while (ever since I moved to my current apartment) so I figured it was just lag from crappy internet, but it happens just as often on Excalibur despite my hilariously low ping, so something's up. Typically what happens is that I'll be shooting at something and then, whoops, in an instant it's 50-1000 meters away from where my client thought it was, so I was actually shooting at empty space or a lag ghost or something all along!
My graphics device is the Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset, and my graphics driver is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for mobile.

Interesting. The dreg pod is the same old spiky ball though.Jimen wrote:QUOTE (Jimen @ Mar 4 2011, 11:33 PM) Depending on what "jitter" means, I think I'm having this problem too. Did you happen to check the target podriders ping Jimen?

Have you updated the driver lately? Newer versions of the driver tell you which card in the 945 family it is.
I have the same or a similar card and subtle fps fluctuations can make hitting pods harder than it should be.
