You could live with it, but it could make skinning a problem.
Once its in milkshape fixing it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Nice base design. Looks maybe even more fitting to the Hive than to the Dhilani. Like the OH advanced in technology and design from the Dhilani foundations.

I don't really have any generic textures. All textures I made were fitted to the very part of the ships I wanted to texture. So I don't have any more textures than you already have.

Only thing I could do, once I have my system set up again, is to make a base texture to supply that leathery skin look, which is created by an effect called 'elephant skin'

I could always rebuild it a little with a little carapace, unless you guys like the simpleness of the sides.

It looks a little awkward. The shoulder is too pointy (if you imagine the top door as a neck, you'll know where I'm talking about). The armour on the back doesn't appear to overlap like it did on the garrison. The flat area on the front looks out of place, except in the last picture where it looks good. Looking at the second pic I guess it looks odd because it's a bit thin. And perhaps have the lower door extend out a little more, to be similar to the top door.

Thanks for turning my crappy sketches into a model. And I vote for keeping it in this thread, not Artwork (though Freeza and Weed really have final say in that).



ps. Your comment about it being hvy made me think - I don't feel the tele/ref sketch needs to be bulked out like you mentioned, since it's a Lt Ref/Tele.

Awesome job guys... love the concept, love the artwork, love it all. Just one petition... could the bases' (for lack of a better word) hitbox be made so that you can't get stuck in between the layers of the pointy segments in the front (again, using juckto's orientation of using the top door as a neck)? I don't know why it makes me nervous to fly my scout with FF off and being stuck in there (don't ask me, i'm a scout, i'm running from my life from enemy hvy ints [and sometimes my own team], circling bases as close as i can to get prox kills) till i drop and rejoin the game (and find my spot taken... everyone will want to play as this faction, so it's gonna be a long wait).
