Being hot is bad for your health (see dehydration). Also it negatively affects productivity. Probably causes cancer. AC4life.

Having 4 cm of extra roof isolation makes my current summer better. In my little country™ it's the humidity that makes temperatures sweaty. I do have a portable AC, a box on 4 wheels with a thick hose that I shove through an open window, but did not have to use it this year.

The weather seems unusual, some record breaking. A few weeks ago we had a record cold night, and a few days later it was very hot at day.

What I remember from TX is a different kind of heat, more dry I suppose. O yea, and everyone and his dog used an AC.

Interesting.

I don't know a single person who has air conditioning in their home in the UK (last time I looked the figures or residential air con in the UK was down in the low single digits)

It's common in modern work spaces though, although not ubiquitous.

Never really considered getting Air con. We considered getting some Fans when the weather was hot though.....

Did you know exposure to extreme cold stress such as a ice bath or cold shower and extreme heat stress such as a sauna, releases and improves your ability to store norepinephrine which is a neurotransmitter that helps with focus and attention?

Low levels of norepinephrine is thought to cause depression and with our climate controlled lives all the time, major heat and cold stressors are less present then ever, potentially kick-starting, or worsening depression.

In leu of a -250 deg cryochamber I have been taking cold showers
and in leu of a sauna, have been sitting in my car in the summer heat. Windows up for short periods of time.

I feel like a God, and as well I just hit Top 8 Diamond in Starcraft (a major increase)

What would be really cool would to find like some kind of walk in freezer that gets REALLY low temps and hang out in there for a while.

I dont have enough icecube trays to do an icebath every day but im going to try one soon times and report back.

Could just go to the freezer section of your grocery store in shorts/t-shirt, stand with one of the doors open for 10min.

Probably get some weird looks, but just tell people you have a hard time deciding what ice cream treat you want. So many choices!

In europe we fix those problems by drinking and heavy drinking. You all are AC sissys.
