Ahh, must have missed that part, or didn't connect that with the beacons. I checked the wiki and (at least back in CC) the scan range of beacons isn't better than normal probes, but they do have better sig. Never would have occurred to me to use them for that purpose.

550 sig because they're TF who, iirc, have a 10% sensor buff.
4% sig because they're base 5% and I bought the GAs
It ended up being 605 scan range because shockingly, I bought that GA too :D


Normally they're *exactly the same* as probes except they cost $250 and have a slightly lower sig in PCore. In early CC (I think CC 1-6) and the DN cores that are available, they were busted.

IC RPs used to have a 12% sig and 1000 scan range which was even *more* busted but they cost $250 so people were deluded into thinking that they were worse, despite the fact that with one of them you could see any bombers, miners, or cons in an entire sector if you placed it correctly.
