I've found the following reasons behind crashes:

Crash at start of launch countdown: missionbrief.mdl

Crash at launch of game after mission brief: dialog.mdl

Crash while entering ship selection screen: artwork issue.

Has anyone tried seeing if it's pcore005-specific or if this same thing happens on pcore004?

I think the problem is related to CortUI. I'm reinstalling Allegiance and loading my pack again, just without CortUI files, and testing.

I've isolated the problem.

My pack works fine without the CortUI files. No crashes on PCore.
When CortUI is installed, Autoupdate overwrites Teamscreen.mdl.
Once CortUI is installed, and Teamscreen.mdl is overwritten by Autoupdate, PCore frequently crashes on Creating/Joining a game, launching a game, and ending a game.
I don't understand why the problem only seems to mostly symptomise in PCore, but that's what's happening.

I'm recompiling and re-updating my installer without CortUI until this problem is fixed.

//CortUI has caused me problems before. I think it may be the CortUI Special Edition.

I got a three dumps from DestinyVoid. Two of the dumps are the same; one is different. I am not sure which, if either, are the same as the crashes Metz describes.

The first two crashes appear an inability to clear the screen. Within CImageTransfer::ColourImageFill32Bit, both pDst and iDstPitch appear to be random, perhaps uninitialized values. My suspicion is the call pVRAMMan->LockTexture in PrivateSurfaceImpl::UnclippedFilll did not return D3D_OK, but some error condition that wasn't checked. I can only speculate that there is a driver- or hardware- specific problem here, as this is a basic inability to write anything to the screen. Perhaps try using a different screen resolution.

The third crash appears an inability to load an image, although I'm not able to determine the filename of the image from the minidump (a full dump would likely contain this information, but windows only takes minidumps by default, unless a regkey is set). From the callstack, the image is almost certainly a poster (background image). Turning posters off might prevent the issue but I doubt it (I'm guessing Allegiance always tries to at least load the images and then decides later whether to show them).

5$ says this is all about running out of texture ram.

There's so many crashes associated with so many different files. RAM does seem likely.

Thank you to everyone helping get all this worked out.
