Allegiance Graphical Upgrade Pack
This release should be stable on all cores. If you have old files from a previous upgrade pack installation, or had manually loaded high res textures from somewhere else, you may experience crashing problems until you uninstall/reinstall the game.

This pack contains all available improved/high-res textures/graphics/effects (planets, asteroids, bases, ships, missles, mines, build sphere, explosion, shockwave, nanite donut, alephs),
and replaces the default gatt2/3 sprites, icon pack, reticule, missile lock, and gauges.

Make sure Allegiance is not running during installation.

Install to your Artwork folder (it will point there by default).

In-game, increase your Max Texture Size setting to 2048. Once you change your max texture size you will have to restart the game.

If you're using the Texture Pack option (which is apparently broken and shouldn't be used anyway), you will need to disable it and restart the game.

If you're having crashing issues, you probably have old files in your textures folder that were removed or replaced in this pack.

Please report any problems.

Report 5/20/2014

I followed installation instructions, by running the install and then I set "Max Texture Size" to 2048 prior to launching but then when I launch a scout the system crashes in an "Allegiance stopped responding" message.

Note that I am using Cortui so there might be a conflict there.

The installer includes CortUI.

Does it crash with a lower Max Texture Size?

So far, Blacksun and I are using it and don't have problems. More people are downloading currently.

This is not without bugs.

Can someone who is more familiar with the Artwork/Texture stuff unpack this somewhere and make sure the files are going to the right places?

I might have to install every item individually until I can cause a crash, so I know what the problem is.

Visually, everything is appearing as intended.

But something is causing client crashes.

The crashes appear to be isolated to PCore

I think it's only PCore.

I just created like 30 WC games and the client crashed on one, which seems to be a fluke.
Of those 30 WC games I started 5 or so of them, got through countdown without crashing, then bombed my own base and ended the game without crashing.

Almost every time I create a PCore game it crashes, and if I manage to create or connect to a PCore game, almost every time the countdown starts, it crashes.

Please relay PCore crash feedback here

p.s. I'm pretty sure I crashed CSS entirely with PCore crashes.
