Yup... shoving in bombers, htts and caps into uncamped alephs shouldn't be too bad if the price is right, but you can also use it to get SBs, ASS etc in pretty easy if people are not diligent/smart and that'll turn into a win button right there for 99% of games.
Drydock may work in CC for std type res, but not for your core since it's easier to get there. But you can do something different along the lines KG posted.
I'll mull on it.. If I knew we could revise CC fast if it breaks @#(!, I'd get it out but it takes ages to get a release out

KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ Aug 2 2011, 08:51 AM) Why ? Because last I time I checked core devs lacked either imagination or balls (or both?) to try new stuff in their core
Or maybe it's just a terrible idea, and time wasted that could have been spent on other issues (like the downgrade bug)

you just proved my point again, and spunky and NR too.
one-sided rez is a missile feature like regular (dual sided) rez is a feature too.
It was not added to replace dual rez but when I introduced it, people didn't see that as a NEW feature that could allow to create NEW type of missiles.
instead they just saw that they could change the existing classical aleph rez and stopped here saying it's terrible or unbalanced.
their reasoning was based on changing something rather than adding something. hence the 'lack of imagination'.
I dunno If i'm clear, it might be hard to understand the concept may be ?
To make an analogy in object oriented programming, it's like reasoning instance instead of class. (yeah I know that's nerdy stuff too, sorry).
oh well I tried.

okay so it's incredibly obvious that you have a god complex and your brain is also incredibly immature, given the fact that you choose not to refute the claim that "implementing one-sided aleph res is incredibly hard to balance" with a logical, well-reasoned argument, probably because you don't actually have one! Instead, you choose to accuse other people of lacking the necessary insight or ambition to do it properly because of course it is impossible that anyone would ever have a reason for doing something that contradicts what you want or think!
instead of being a worthless blowhard maybe you should construct logical arguments that reinforce your points and then, maybe, people will take you seriously! until then you're just a $#@!ing joke

I touched a nerve ?
I refuted the claim "implementing one-sided aleph res is incredibly hard to balance" but it seems you didn't get (or read) my logical argument.
The rest is you playing drama queen. I don't see anything 'god complex', 'immature', 'blowhard' or 'joke' in my posts here. Just facts.

HoD one-side0.5k one-side-res to clear minefieldsSpecial SRM for scouts to resonate alephs one side (to spam res message)
Get away from these stupid $#@!ing useless Res3. Resonator was useful (killed EVERYTHING in range), until Noir came up with the idea changing the damage modifier (same as dis) and introducing new ones with even more range.
I don't see a problem introducing a One-Side-Res with limited range. It's a solution to break the $#@!ing carapace of the turtling team.
Turtling is something which shouldn't happen, specially on XC.

Please link to your refutation, because all I've read is "HEY LOOK! NEW FEATURE! NEW OPTION! MORE OPTIONS ARE BETTER!"
The option has to have merit, however. One-sided aleph res is a terrible idea, because it trades teamwork for tech. When both teams have some kind of tech parity (even enh vs advanced), camps work or not based on teamwork and position. It makes the game very "human." Even if it were a "weak" one-sided res, it would trade a very interesting "human-oriented" part of Allegiance for a toy. It's like Imago's plan to store keymaps "in the cloud." Yeah, it's a new option, but given how Alleg's security is designed, it's a bunch of code (and drama) spent on something that most people would only use once or twice a year.

wow just wow. you really don't get it or you're trolling on purpose ?
your mind is stuck at 'rez = anti camp feature' so this option is anti-camp so it's anti-teamwork so it has no merit.
try to unstuck it : your premise is false.
And I don't see the connection with Imago's plan (which was probably his only good idea).
"HEY LOOK! NEW FEATURE! NEW OPTION! MORE OPTIONS ARE BETTER!" is good anyway, even more if adding that option took me 5 minutes max.
and really, if you find that camping an aleph is a nice teamwork thing and it makes the game 'human' than we don't like the same game at all. Camping alephs is one of the worst thing of this game.

Ok, I'll bite. Fill me with your knowledge. How else can a one-sided aleph res be used.
PS. Despite Night, I'm being genuine, not snarky. It should come as no surprise, since I'm a much much better person than Night is.
