The taller you are, the more difficult EVERY workout becomes; Longer arms means you have to do a push-up over a larger distance, not to mention with increased weight on those arms, and also more work for your abs to stabilize a longer body.

But alas, my poor physical fitness is due to me sitting on my ass all day long.

+1

I'm 6'2", push ups and sit ups are the bane of my existence, but they are the best thing to improve my softball swing. I also sit on my ass most of the day. Sigh.

I'm in Category 4 but I'm pretty light, only around 130 at 5'10. It was getting really hard above 30 push ups though, only made it to 31.

That's almost 7 minute miles, which really is not bad at all. My fastest mile was in high school when I was really fit and was like 6:33. These days I'm happy I can run a 5k in under 25 mins :)

I think standards are different for active duty military personnel...

Re: cardio I'm just happy if I can do a half marathon in under 2 hours, marathon under 4:30 :S

at 6'2" 200lbs as well I agree with the math above. More weight to push a longer distance up. Push ups don't scale well with size, as with chinups/pull ups. Gravity is fighting against large-folk. Its a reversal for things like rucksack marches and BFTs (quarter marathon with something like 60lbs weight) and the what-not which as you get larger the weight is a lesser percentage of your body mass/less of a march in total due to a longer stride.

Week 1 Day 2 of the 100 pushups program starting up tonight after my martial arts AND NEW 300% POPULATED BY WOMEN YOGA CLASSES.

at 6'3" and 200lbs the easiest workouts for me involve moving things rather than my body. I did yoga for a while and I would be sweating and exhausted while all the girls were barely even working up a sweat.

main area of muscle is my legs, they are like giant trunks of power.
