I just love how my threads become off topic
(refering to animating site)
i get most of the reasons (except for Dark_spong, I wasn't talkin just bout tags.)
But like i said I had to get it out there.
Oh and just wondering. How did the squads become squads?
Most things start somewhere (excpet for my insanity lol)

The problem is, Mercs are too erractic, and can't be counted upon to do anything other then fill space 80% of the time. Even when you see pickup games where a bunch of squadded players join same side, I still guarantee you that 80% of the rest who are untagged and not hiders will be doing something completely different then what the team should be focusing on (whether it be dogfighting, flying around aimlessly, or doing a task that can't be done).
Squads are basically like social groupings, where people are more friendly with each other, or share a common goal of some sort. And to be perfectly blunt, not all the squads have really high standards of entry, other then "Show up to squadgames". Even some squads have leniency with non-attendance if notified ahead of time, or if its for a good reason. Ever play a "Insert Squad here" VS The World game? Thats basically what you'd get with a grouping of random Mercs, only they wouldn't have vets from other squads trying to bring order to the chaos.
Or at least thats how i see it

OK
Once again
Being in a squad does NOT make you more skilled then a Merc.
Joining a group of people who you enjoy playing and socializing with does not increase your skill one iota.
It does after a long time ( say minimum six months ) allow you find your niche within the squad and also how others in your squad play the game.
That is the ONLY advantage being in a squad gives you with regard to your personal skill.
BTW < insert squad name > vs world has always resulted in the < insert squad name > losing in every one of the ten or so games Ive played.

i dun mind, i didn't clarify it properly at all. I do believe being in a squad does help your skill slightly, in the coordination area. Mostly because you get used to the same person, and their behavior, as appose to not knowing how anyone acts because you don't fly with them but once in a full moon.MrChaos wrote:QUOTE (MrChaos @ May 26 2008, 08:10 PM) OK

Wrong.
Morale, comradre, and good spirits, do indeed increase your skill, especially in situational awareness.
n.b. I may not see a forum post replied to me or a pm sent to me for weeks and weeks...
Incorrect. The rest I agree with though.MrChaos wrote:QUOTE (MrChaos @ May 26 2008, 09:10 PM) Being in a squad does NOT make you more skilled then a Merc.

I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
