Also, keep in mind, the range involved is going to be affected by any sig GAs the other team purchases.

Check them before you leave. Or ask someone in base to check. Sheesh.

Lucky for me some fellow pilots came up with "about 1200" when I asked, and it worked. Un-eyed.
Projectile/missle just has to hit the hitbox of the target to do damage, while range is calculated to the center of the target.

ABMs will do damage to GT Gar, if you shoot them from 1700, but only if you hit a pylon. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Is the Scan range calculated from the edge of the station or the center?

Ozzy, I'm not saying it doesn't work, but it's bloody primitive. One sees the ranges on everything else, so why not for the pods?

What you say sounds a bit like "It's easy enough to dial in phone-numbers, why should the mobile remember them for you?". It's one more bit of esoteria that a new pilot has to know, when it should be there on the f4 screen like everything else.

If it's going to digress, I hope someone will answer that Q before it does.

Unless there was a code change regarding this, I recall it being "station edge", according to a value in the igc file for station size. That is, the effective scan range is measure between the edge of the station (scan range + base size) to the edge of your ship (your ship + ship size), multiplied by signature as a percentage.
