I did CDT with just reading the forums twice, maybe three times a week as I didn't have much time. I passed, got 107 (out of 110) and learned a lot.

+ Got Squaded.

CDT is FTW
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Hi, I can tell you are obviously new here. If you haven't read AllegAcademy.org then visit that site and don't overlook any of the information. Please play with other newbies on the newbie server, it could indeed be of great use to you also. If you are having trouble understanding something found in the academy (which you shouldn't) ask a veteran or somebody with basic experience to help you understand (Don't ask somebody you consider immature or angry because they aren't worth your time asking)

A few tips:

1. Try the best you can, don't give up and don't let people kick you when you make a mistake. It truly isn't that big of a deal unless you decided to boot a newbie for no reason or curse somebody out...

2. Take nothing from the internet personally. If they yell at you and curse at you for not attacking a miner or not defending a constructor, keep playing. If they decide to push you around a bit they have some real issues and need to remember this is a game. (And they might possibly need some counciling depending on how they take your disregard for their OH SO PRECIOUS VIRTUAL ASSETS)

3. What BlackViper's link is is a list of common mistakes, read that, it will save you!!!

Mate, think before you write.

1) Don't try to send somebody who is already learning the game to the newbie servers. Those only teach bad habits.

2) He started by saying he's a (6), and these days the newbie limit is (4). Sheesh.

/edit

Welcome to Allegiance Farrel, it's the best game in the world!

Don't hesitate to do cadet. If you have any time to play, and a a few hours a week to read, then you have time to do cadet. I had a lot of fun, and learned trade secrets from cunning vets. Your understanding of Allegiance will grow in leaps and bounds, and it's the route to getting into a squad... and squad games my friend, are the cherry on this cake.

#16 If you see a bomber all by its lonesome, forget anything else you're doing, get back to base, mount up a nanite and nothing but prox and counters, and get your ass to nanning on the bomber! The only exception is when it's a stealth bomber (indicated by the S in the upper-left-hand corner of the ship's radar icon), those guys work alone as far as bombing, though it takes a group of them to destroy a base.

#17 Don't hop in a stealth ship if you don't know how to use it. It will only set you back further. If you do not know how to store/swap missles and a shield then you should not get a stealth ship unless there is no other choice. With that said, for the love of God DO NOT DEFEND A BASE WITH A STEALTH SHIP UNLESS YOU TRULY KNOW HOW!!! Funny thing about turret gunners is that they seem to lock on to the stealth ships first, at least the ones that don't know a proper order of attack.

QUOTE 1) Don't be afraid to ask the commander for money... But ask once and then wait... if there is no reply, assume it's a no, and fly something else. It could be (As I found out) even if you aren't confident in an expensive ship, the commander has a use for you to have it. Don't expect him to need a bomber pilot though unless he starts asking.[/quote]

=In preperation to an XRM drop=

Commander(Team 1): Need Bombers
Weylin(Team 1): Roger
-Requests bomber once-
Commander(Weylin): Affirmative!

18. Don't forget to take a Nan along with you from the moment you set off, you never know whether a con or miner might need you on your first swing back after dropping off probes.

I usually forget because I'm trying to stock on probes, no missile reload and one prox. But it's worth the loss of one probe almost every time.
