in EOR HOD kills rocks...
will we be having infantry?
can i suggest a gun combination?
one person has a "tag rifle" which plants a tracking device on whatever it lands on (its like a sniper rifle, but it shoots tracking devices)
someone else with a rocket launcher can then select the tracking device from a menu then shoot the rocket and the rocket will head towards the tracking device. (if the rocket is fired at an angle of over 60 degrees vertical it flies straight for 5 or 10 seconds before starting to track (homing mortar)
one problem is if you have a missile that seeks a tracking device, it will destroy the tracking device if it hits it...
so the missile when it detonates plants another tracking device on the thing it hit, and any other missiles that were heading towards the one it hit then go for the one it just placed...
Quantus (aka Allegiance - Planetside thread)
You could also make rockets leave a massive trail of smoke, leading all nearby enemies to your location, (same with sniper rifle)

one infantry unit boned and ready to go, anyone fancy a bash at animating it?
and should this kind of giant heavy mech be another tech tree? ---

Alright fellas. This is the first draft of my story. There are details omitted and a timeline along with many supplement stories will follow in my blog.
(If you wish to comment on this story, please do so in my blog, I don't want this thread getting clogged up with too many things at once)
QUOTE It has been 160 years since the destruction of Earth. The age old fight to survive still continues, however mankind now seeks a new home planet. Unfortunately, during the ongoing war, many planets had been ravaged for resources. The damage from the war had been so extensive that no habitable planet was left untouched known to man.
Until in 2294 when GigaCorp claim jumpers discovered a habitable planet on the outermost reaches of the known universe, they christened it Quantus. Initial deep space scans of the planet suggested that the planet had previously been inhabited, faint energy signals could still be detected eminating from its surface.
It was not long before the news had been leaked by spies and soon all the factions were aware of Quantus. Tempted by the prospect of a homeworld at last, along with the possibility of discovering new technologies, all the factions immediately began to construct colony ships, accompanied by the fastest warships in their respective fleets. These settlers, because of the distance they had to travel were forced to cut off contact between themselves and the rest of their factions.
The GigaCorp colony ship, the Terra Argentus was the first to arrive at Quantus. She immediately landed on the surface on the planet and began to establish a base of operations. Only a few days later, the Iron Coalition's Domus taskforce arrived. Within a few months all the factions had landed on the planets surface, the planet was abundant with alien structure and artifacts which contained information that scientists had yet to decipher.
On the 2nd August 2300 Belters and Iron Coalition forces clashed over Iron deposits at the North Pole of the planet, the first battle for Quantus had begun ...[/quote]

Also, I propose we name this project Quantus.
Or hopefully Allegiance: Quantus if we are allowed to use the Allegiance name.

Ok, well since the background story has been accepted so far. I'm going to start the supplement stories I was talking about.

Yeah I left it vague and we can fill in stuff as it's decided. The alien bit was cliché yes, but it allowed us room for new tech and vehicles maybe even the portal etc etc.
At the moment I am poking DataNet so I can write about the factions in the intervening period between Allegiance and Allegiance: Quantus.
Also I intend to write about squads, but I have to think about that some more before I go looking fo sources. (Thanks for the comments)

Found this in the FAQs of the United States Copyright Office. Based on what it says, I think we're good.HSharp wrote:QUOTE (HSharp @ Apr 16 2007, 10:22 AM) By the way anyone talked to MS Lawyers/checked the copyright laws to see if it can be called Allegiance - Planetside (or starting with Allegiance)???

Still if you could find someone for me or you to e-mail for confirmation, that would be nice.
