I've not been able to actually play Allegiance, aside from the training missions, so I don't know if this thing is really worth the trouble, but here goes.
I've had an Allegiance installer on my external HD since November, but hadn't tried installing it on this new computer. I installed Allegiance, let it run through the updates, and when I went to connect, ASGS reported that it couldn't start Allegiance. So after two tries, I hopped on here, found that I should try to start Allegiance.exe manually. When I did so, it gave me the error about incorrect configuration. I found some more advice on here, thinking that Allegiance wasn't starting fast enough, and reinstalled Allegiance on a second empty HD. For some reason, I ran Allegiance.exe before I ever touched ASGS, and it worked. I went in, did the training missions, then started up ASGS. After it ran through the updates, same thing happened. I've tried hiding the updater, running Allegiance before ASGS, so that it couldn't over-write it, basically there's nothing I know to do on this end.
The version number from the Allegiance.exe that works on this computer: 1.1.0.7170
The version of Allegiance.exe that the updater downloads: 1.1.0.61403
Can't start Allegiance.
