Have you ever seen people that play games like EU or WoW or whatever? Most of the ones i know can't pry themselves away, let alone to vote for a silly popularity contest (hey, it also means more to compete with /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" /> )

hockey1015 wrote:QUOTE (hockey1015 @ Feb 23 2007, 03:41 PM) hm, in the course of 18 hours, we have gained 1800 votes (rough estimates.) Something tells me we (us and EU) are both going to be DQ'ed and dominion is going to be named #1 at the end of the month. EU has the player base to realistically get 100 votes/hour... we dont.
The times of credibility are history. :-)

The top 3 games have shown what their real voting rate is in the beginning of the month/when they held the #1 position. It is not only obvious what's going on, it is also well documented on the forums for everybody to read. Mpogd is ignoring this as well as mails on the matter. Actually, I think it would be the most fair outcome, for Dominion to win as the only honest contestant, but my bet is the people at mpogd are just overjoyed with the number of hits their site and thus their ads are getting...

Have you ever heard of heroin content?

It is when something is so good, people will go to extreme lengths to get it. Allegiance is heroin content, and people have proven that they are willing to go to great lengths to get it.

Allegiance has just taken a big step (r3) to reduce the tremendous effort required to get hooked. More people can take the plunge now.

As for this voting thing, it is a method of achieving publicity. Whatever is going on, we are getting a lot of publicity, and some respect. For example, EU is absolutely certain we are cheating, immensely, because we have a "small player base". Well, we do. However, we care about Allegiance, deeply.. because Allegiance is heroin.

oh, and relax.. as for our voting rate, look at the first five days we were on the list ;-)

As I read it they have 500,000 accounts registered. Some of those might have played the game for <10 minutes, never to return. We have 17,000 forum accounts registered, it's a fair bet most of them can't even remember what Alleg is either. God knows how many people have played Allegiance over the years, but it's a little more than the 200 some of them seem to think have ever logged in.

We should let them win.

They don't all seem to get the elections are rigged now and have a fair playerbase still naively thinking their vote actually makes a difference. I know it's a bit irritable they blamed this community of cheating when we didn't, but it's an understandable misunderstanding: they don't spend so much time lurking here as our ambassadors do there. We know how many of us there are and what we can do as a community if need be, we don't have to explain ourselves to people who really don't care.

I suggest we play this silly proxy vote game with some less innocent game the coming month. The machine is now all setup I understand?

My eyes hurt when I have to go to their forums and read through all those over-the-top smiles to keep up with this little tussle. Seems like war-weariness is settling in both sides.

Let them win and end this fallacy.

they are interested in stopping cheating.

i say give it a try for a few days, see if they keep to their word. if they cheat again, we can respond, but lets not be the first to re-start the cheating war.

What is your point?

A suggestion:
You have 6542 votes now!
I'll take care of the votes we need up to 6542....

After that, all cheaters stop (or vote ONCE a day only)!
Same with voters from Dominion!

How about that? We could finally have a fair challenge for the last days....

Let me know what you think about that!!!!!

You already know that you can't win without cheating?

Votes are now as follows:

1 Allegiance 6545 17.42%
2 Entropia Universe 6545 17.42%

What an effort, and we still are where we started...

My offer still stands...

No more votes from me for the next 48 hours!

Now it is up to you!!!

Ok, lets try and do this the right way, its pretty obvious if they start cheating again, so we can just respond.

Edit: Just voted only once as promised, we are 11 ahead at the mo, not sure how man EU are online?

Well so long as they cross their heart and hope to die, that must mean they've stopped cheating right? The whole thing is a farce, there's no way to know if they aren't trckling in enough fake votes just to stay a ickle bit ahead. Who cares really? we win by dubious means or they do, it's still a rigged election, front page is good for advertising anyway.

On the other hand, we wouldn't make the hall of fame, so obviously that would mean that they love EU more than we love Alleg. Let's just go and tell them we are sorry for daring to challenge them and that we realise we are losers, best all around really.

This would require us to trust this Wiszszszs and fellows. And frankly, I don't. He started the slugging match so righteous and unconcernedly and many people over there seem so determined to win that I just can't believe they will stop cheating. I'd assume they'd reduce the blatant cheating just so much as to win slightly in the end. Even if the community agrees, if there is a single person in the alleged community of 500.000 who keeps cheating that is enough to void the truce offer.

PS: Did you note: A few days ago they were complaining loudly that spys were watching their forums, and now Wiszszszs expect an answer to their post there within one hour. :-)

Don't you know? Wiz can't come here or else he'll be burnt to a crisp by the aura radiating from that which is Allegiance. ;-)
