ASGS starts fine, starts to download a 6 part 9mb file then restarts ASGS. It will not start up Alleg (Although Alleg starts fine without using ASGS)

So, I have uninstalled the game and deleted the directory

Downloaded the latest setup.exe reinstalled the game ...same problem.
Then
Uninstalled again and deleted the directory and reinstalled again into a different directory.....same results.

I have connected to the web and downloaded that large update (200+ files) using Alleg without ASGS but it will not let me log in without ASGS as expected.
But, I got the same result trying to connect using ASGS (downloads 6 files then restarts) both before and after the big update.

Can anyone help me? Or point to my failings! /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

...either something is wrong with our community's installer (unlikely) or you are consistently screwing something up on each of those machines (more likely)

Sorry to put it like that, but that's what it sounds like to me... nobody else is complaining of this.
Try downloading the ASGS update manually - click the "Downloads" link at the topright of this page.

Hi Tiger,

Just so you are aware I was not complaining or bitching about the game. I found it odd that my main PC running XP was working fine the previous evening. There had been no change to the PC in the mean time. I have tried to install with a fresh download each time twice on this xp box. Also onto Win 2000 & then VIsta and then onto my laptop. With the exact same result each and every time.

Nevermind I am off to Chronodroidland to help ease the withdraw.

(admins you can lock down this thread thanks lads) /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Well good luck. If ASGS still refuses to update, then update it manually. That should do the trick.

Hey Tiger, well I just cannot understand it! The updated stuck and ASGS boots up alleg. It seems as though I can log on me ol' matey!

I will rip off the neck of a cold one in your honour. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
