LAN Help?

I just downloaded the latest version of the game and server :

allegsetup_302
AllsrvSetupR5

They both installed with no problem.

In AllSrvUI, I create a game with these settings :

Private Game
Name: Gershom
Password: BLANK
Core: cc_09
Max Players: 8
Allow Empty Teams: Checked
Lock Game Open: Checked

The game has not started.

I then run Allegiance.exe and click LAN GAMES.
After a short delay, the FIND SERVER box comes up and says "Searching...".

It never finds the game. What have I done wrong?

You don't need the server to play online. Just click "Free games,not lan games.

1. I'm not currently trying to play online because there's no internet where I'm staying. I'm using my phone's data connection to post this.

2. Every time I have tried to play online, the game crashes when I try to join.

I'm just trying to play solo on a lan server to fly around some while I figure out how to get online, but the game won't find the lan server that I launched.

If the game is crashing when you try to join the regular server, you most likely have a corrupt file.
I would try a fresh install of Allegiance.

I have played using my phone's data in the past with no issues.

I don't have tethering on my phone, so playing that way is not an option. I'll try downloading again, but I would still like to be able to play via LAN.

I believe there is a config text file that has to list your computers IP address as one of the server addresses. Find that file, put your IP addy in that list.?

What phone do you have?...I could probably get you tethered faster than getting you on a LAN. Additionally, on a LAN without other players, you would have very little to do in game that could be considered fun.

What should allsrv.cfg look like for LAN?

Update : Got it fixed. I just backed up allsrv.cfg and changed the address to my local I.P.
