MrC's family report that the primary cause of death was heart failure. Given that MrC made no attempt to seek help or get out of bed, it is highly likely he was oblivious of his own demise. He died a peaceful death.

Still devastated and crying, but since I can't afford to fly to Michigan for the ceremonies, and I couldn't get an RT patch embroidered that fast and shipped to me anyway, I'll relay some stories.

I only met the man in person twice.

Once when he was on a job interview in Minneapolis (he actually did a carry-on of all of the individual issues of Transmetropolitan *JUST* because I said I'd never read them, and delivered them to me in a box before we went out to dinner after he flew into town. He used to run a comic book store, so he had extras.). We had dinner, chatted about everything under the sun, shared a few drinks and cemented our relationship as brothers and squadmates.

The other time I was on airplane layover in detroit due to flight delay for work. 2 or 3 hour layover, I forget. I had his cell number so I called him.

He was sitting in a McDonald's parking lot eating dinner in his car.

While I was on the phone with him, inside the airport terminal, he crumpled up his cheeseburger wrappers, drove 40+ minutes to the airport, picked me up, and showed me what he could of detroit with the time allotted.

He LITERALLY DROPPED EVERYTHING WITH NO NOTICE (I don't think he even finished his food), DROVE OUT OF HIS WAY, AND CARTED ME AROUND TOWN ON HIS OWN MONEY *JUST* because I was in his town and had a flight delay.

I offered to pay, he wouldn't let me.

We were short on time and just had beers in a dive bar due to distance and the lack of "decent strip clubs" (his words) (I've never actually been to a strip club, but he said there were no good ones near the airport that wouldn't involve him wondering about the use of the gun in his trunk, so I've still never been to a strip club. Good old Detroit.) but we had a BLAST just chatting it up and drinking cheap beer.

He drove me back to the airport and I finally caught a flight home by following his example and being entirely polite and kind to the overworked person who was in charge of assigning seats at the gate, even though I had a deadline to make and would be in trouble for not making it.

For all of the greatness he was in the community, he positively VIBRATED with a great attitude in person.

I learned a great many things about behaviour from him.

My sorrow knows no bounds.

I saw an e-mail with the title of RIP Mr Chaos and and I somehow knew it wasn't a joke about him quitting allegiance.

For the same reason I've never stopped loving anyone I dated, I'm never going to stop remembering Mr. Chaos. He taught me what true unconditional love means. Agape, in the greek sense.

People like to say that it gets easier as time goes on, but this never will for me.

The absence will be felt in perpetuity.

What I *can* remember, though, is the good times, and with him?

Those always make me smile.

I would look up to MrC when I first came in the community. I was young and acted like more of an idiot than I do now. Plenty of @#$%@#s on the forums back then. Any words that MrC directed towards me in that time were both insightful and encouraging, like he could read my mind and see how I saw things, and then put it all together in a way that made me look at things with a different perspective.

It pains me that I'm not far enough in life to be able to afford luxury trips to meet others. Meeting MrC would have been a blast. I'm glad you had the opportunity, Bard. I envy you in that respect. Same to you, Baker. I'm sure MrC will have many attend his funeral. People like him come into life once in a blue moon, and he's a type that few could forget.

I hope everyone who knew him learns from his values in approaching life, the universe, and everything.

Mr Chaos has been our best member, i feel that this, plus a memorial game every January 1st are the right way of honouring him.

I'm not sure who he is but i believe we had personal contact during his time at Fiat/Chrysler.

My thoughts and prayers go to his family.

I'm kicking myself for not hooking up with him when I was visiting in Detroit(many friends and relatives to visit..not a lot of time).

He was a true engineer, and a goddamn good one at that.
