Grimmwolf_GB wrote:QUOTE (Grimmwolf_GB @ Oct 23 2015, 07:57 PM) I would love to shout at my 22 year-old self to play it less... It caused quite the delay in my progress though university.

Dinosaur reporting in for the yearly check-up.
Speaking of Grimm and his university, I almost ended up joining there for an MS in MEMS. I don't know if you remember, but you helped me out by fishing out my application there and seeing what additional paperwork needed to be sent to complete it. I ended up not going for stupid-rebellious-teenager reasons. Life might have turned out entirely different had I gone that route.

Aaaaanyway. 15 years. Wow.

:)

Hello Raum, Paps.

Strike700 pinged me on Google Chat and let me know about the anniversary game. I was planning to show up for it too, but just like how I first went grey on the squad roster, real life intervened.

Hey bud did you take the engineer route? The how to get you water posts ranks, for me, as one of my most face palm moments. *sigh*

Ha! That was so long ago.

I'm now a database ninja. Started off in network land, got shanghaied into sys admin stuff, learned SQL because the DBA was extremely incompetent (not kidding - think "accidentally pulled the fiber cabling to SAN switch while trying to unplug keyboard and mouse from the back of the server" incompetent). Now I do database design, training, optimisation and general genie from the bottle stuff in a small software development company.

Sure but we both remember the thread ;)

I should have said this in the first post too. Congratulations and best wishes on the arrival of your bundle of joy.
