In lieu of my ACSS VM "can't log in" issue . I opted to try to install and log into the LAN server. Single machine. This did not work. Something about LAN server not being up to date.

Is there a compatible LAN server available?

Hi Rudeone,

Server setup can be tricky depending on your patience level, but your VM issue should be resolved.

Here's some out of date info, the server installs linked on the wiki is very out of date, and some of the details about ASGS are no longer valid:

If you would still like to try a local server, let us know, there are several people who can assist.

Thanks,

Got that server running.

Still not compatible with default or beta. :bang:

Finally logged into network.

Shot @ my first enemy target and was immediately podded. :o

Limped back to base.

Accepted next command. Auto-pilot to zone. Shot @ second enemy. Immediately podded.

So i'm basically just going to romp in training till PIGS or bots or whatever becomes available.

Just a wee bit too much effort required to play.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks all for the help.

You joined at an unlucky time; that was the big semi-organized organized teamgame event. Normal games are a lot less chaotic and easier to follow, especially if you also know what's going on. I or plenty of other experienced players would be willing to help show you the ropes some time; a bit of teaching on how to play and what roles are good for new players can help a lot with the overwhelmedness.

Bots better than what you see in the miner defense mission will probably never actually be done; we don't have much development time and that's not a priority right now.

Understood. Bots in the "Miner defense" training mission are fine.

I figure if I stay close to base...specifically that green door. I can stay alive just a bit longer. :ninja:

A bot wingman would be kinda nice. Crawling back to base with an angry enemy support peppering you is no bueno... :nono:
