Old Players All Over the Forum

I'm looking at some of the new posts and I am seeing vets...great players who played before I even heard of the game in 2006 and who could all be squad leaders. I won't mention any names, but I'm wondering if these vets are just checking out the forums or are they playing?
I mean Dome and Cashto, Drizzo, Raum, and some others I have seen in game...and these guys are great, but most of the callsigns I have seen in game are new players (some seem very skilled), but I'm not seeing the vets on the forum in game.
Are these guys going to play again or are they just seeing what's going on in the forums? Man, some of these guys could be squad leaders easily...maybe they are in squads but don't play often. All I know is there are great players on the forums. I hope they play again.
I'm going to teach my 10 year-old son to play. I know...blind leading the blind...but he saw me play and said, "That looks awesome"...just before I ate prox and was podded like a Fu@king noob. But teach them young..he could be the next Weedman.

Just an observation.

I log in and troll the forums, occasionally I play a game, but that is the exception

I may log in every now and then, but this game just isn't very high on my list of priorities. I'm teaching two new classes next year, and I've began work on another Master's degree. Sorry

PS. And my warn level is still 10% for posting Halo: Reach spoilers (spoiler - Covenant wins)

lol, if there was even one redeemable quality in that game I would have stuck around for longer. But wow, so bad, I mean the comm was partialling emp mines vs exp as rix. That statement alone has at least 3 things wrong with it and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Also, who the $#@! neutered rix? 15second rip on basic figs and only two gatts? Serious?
