this post should be added to the great allegiance quotes hall of fame.

Rick James

I didn't block him, nor meant to imply that I had done so. I was just letting him know I was done talking to him on the particular discussion was all. In hindsight I can see how it could be taken in a completely different light

Yes...being part of this community has been the best sociology coarse I could have ever taken.

Hi folk,

Sorry if that was already discussed...

I am sure that a lot of my dear lazy french compatriots did not even dare to download the game because it is in english.

Would it be an idea to have the game available in few different languages, e.g. spanish, french, german? I mean text and voices (or just subtitles) in tutorials.
I do not know how it could be feasible with the two ongoing Allegiance 2 development projects, and it is any way probably very far to be on their priority lists, but I am sure that would bring many players to the game.

Well that's just a quick thought :D

Right now allegiance tutorials are hardcoded within the source code.

A few years ago a few people tried to translate parts of the wiki, this increases the work on keeping the information there up to date.

Overall you don't come around to communicate with the other players in one language, which everyone understands on your team.

So the effort you invest to support other languages doesn't worth it.

The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.

Well, I agree that in-game communication is the base.
I was just thinking about a way to attract, or let say not scare, people.
Any-way, a brighter upgraded client coupled with good marketing would already attract some more players without having to bother with languages.
