If you guys can get FA to work with WINE, it might be nice to get it on the "Gold" list or so. More advertisement for us. Jay!

Another New Game Server
TestUS2 online. Server is in New York City with a company that specializes in game servers. Should definitely be better than the Canada server and hopefully at least as good as TestUS1.
Server has a little more RAM and much faster CPU than TestUS1. Unlike almost all VM providers where you share CPU cores with other VMs, they provide fully dedicated cores. Only real concern for me is because they mostly just host game servers it is probably more likely to be affected by an occasional DDOS attack. Game servers are frequently targeted with DDOS unfortunately.

TY again AEM, really good. And why would people DDOS gameservers?
Code: Select all

Game servers are a valuable target since they have decent hardware, good network connections, always on, and often managed by good willing amateurs. Modern games are complex so there might be bugs and backdoors to exploit.
Just my 2 cents.
If you want to see for yourself how fast this exploiting goes, buy a raspberry pi kit, install debian wheezy on it, a pptp vpn package and check the logs 1 week later. Don't tell anyone about your server. You might be amazed how fast some Chinese IP address probes you.

Sounds like the server was about the same as US1 today, although I never get feedback from more than a few people. I am planning to put in a cancellation request for US1 by the middle of this week and proceed with this one for now. If anyone thinks the new server is not as good, let me know now.
But I would prefer not to pay for another month of US1 which means I need to cancel this week. If for some reason something US2 gets bad I can always get another server from the same host as US1.

Server was good for me as well.
Thanks for the servers AEM, they're all great for both euro and US which is really something we need at the moment.

Still ready to teach anyone who asks nicely whatever they want to know about playing alleg. Contrary to popular opinion I do not eat newbies. Voobs taste much better.
