and the best commander trains his people so they don't fail and he doesn't have to correct for it and he can depend on them
but this will take a bit of time

To be fair, the best commanders win the most games.

Commanders can only do so much, provide guidance and good strategy. Without execution, its all for naught.

I agree, but the point still stands. Just wanted to join this conversation 'cos it made me laugh when I was drunk last night. Game was a shambles, but funny looking back on it. If the team had followed instructions layed out pre game then disaster avoided. If the comm had stayed in base, also disaster avoided though. Everyone looked bad! I suck at allegiance by the way!

I don't think I have anything new to add here and my memory is a bit fuzzy like my game sense. Here is what I remember anyway.... I was on Dome's yellow Belters team. Note someone found mini2 and docked it within like 2 minutes, dunno if anyone used it though. We launched and Dome sent us to one sector. We went to a 2nd sector. We entered a 3rd sector, where we encountered a bunch of blue lints.... We kinda tried to stay close together and lints were flying around. There is a fight and some on both teams were podded. I think I blew up a scout (they had another though) and nanned someone on my team. A number of our team were podded and someone told us to pull back(I think Dome called it).

We went back to the 2nd sector, and I think we had a ref up there, and a tp planting, dunno but I believe we this is correct. Anyway someone (I think Babelfish) says "get pu and come back with mini2". We kinda flew around this sector getting pods and waited for the blue push and regrouped. I don't think we had prox or scouts on the aleph. Well the blue op con comes in alone and flies a little bit. At least 4-5 belter figs are on it in a few seconds and no blues in sector either. I think it tried to rip as it went nowhere.
When the con is at about 25~ hull or so some blues come in. Like 2 of them, dunno if a scout was with them or not. The op con dies before they can save it.

I honestly don't know if they had a scout near that con (apparently not from what I read, but I remember there was another scout in that 3rd sector), there were like 2-3 blues coming in at the last second. Maybe a scout could have saved it so it could rip, but there were 4-5+ figs on it. Anyway it dies and blue resigns. Butthurting/drama/lolz begins. Apparently Sherrif Metz was out of base and like 6+ lints chased Babelfish to our-cons-not-here land.

Anyway it was a 6 min game and there were many more games, I would not take it to seriously. Moral of the story I guess: stay near or in front of your con and someone should control it, it doesn't have to be the comm. Nothing new here. Oh and don't chase Babel when there is more important stuff to do. Also nans and scouts with cons. Even so opening cons die sometimes.

I never chase babel. Even though he's Scottish, he runs like a Kenyan.

More like a Jamaican, mon. IMO what you really lacked was a deputy with the push, someone to take charge of it if you were busy flying. Dual failure, enough good players so that someone could have realised this was necessary, not so obvious that you shouldn't have specifically delegated.

Code: Select all

I will not play to a lower standard. I'd rather lose.
I'm sorry to say it, but these are not the words of a leader. Not at all.

Do you know many leaders

I guess I could be more like Obama and operate under the pretense that everyone that I represent is a moron, which is pretty accurate
but then I hope Obama gets hit by a bus so I'm not really aspiring for that type of leadership
