For debugging use Process Monitor, add a filter for Allegiance.exe process and artwork directory.
Just look for the last file Allegiance process opened, before it crashes and starts closing all files. That file is most likely the one which cases the crash.
Crash during launch of game on PCore with CortUI
Hmm... Maybe there is a problem with the memory Allegiance uses.
I've observed that Allegiance crashes every time I try to start a game on PCore005 with tons 147 high res textures at about 900+ MB memory usage at random environment texture files (PCore has the most factions ever within a single core and tons of high res textures available).
By reducing the max texture size to 1024, Allegiance used only about 600 MB memory and didn't crash on countdown (when it's loading environment textures).
If you can confirm that behavior, we got maybe some kind of limit, how much memory Allegiance can address.

Thank you for working on this. It's rather important at this point, since we can't put the pack in the installer while having such crashes.
This is the only thing that makes sense because the crashes are not limited to PCore, but are just much more frequent on PCore, which of course has much more textures available due to Drac.pkk wrote:QUOTE (pkk @ May 22 2014, 01:23 PM) If you can confirm that behavior, we got maybe some kind of limit, how much memory Allegiance can address.

There's a new sheriff in town.
Can you confirm that reducing the texture size to 1024 x 1024 allow you to launch a game on PCore?

Seems like TA can confirm exactly this behavoir...

I can confirm this. Played a game yesterday on RPS, didn't have an issue. Jumped into a game today on PCore, and had to set my texture size to 1024, otherwise I would see constant crashes within 10 seconds of joining, sometimes instantly.Sheriff Metz wrote:QUOTE (Sheriff Metz @ May 20 2014, 06:42 PM) http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...st&p=677566
The consistent client crash problem is definitely isolated to PCore
