Unfortunately Facebook does not even support setting anything other than a start and end date. But you could manually start an ad every Friday afternoon and run it through Sunday night. Going to get few/no players during the week when anyone who downloads will find servers empty and uninstall.
That's a great idea AEM. Thanks.

Kudos for your effort to promote Alleg.

Please consider it my positive consideration, it's not intended as mindless nay sayer.

I know many people use the adblock plugin, which efficiently blocks (Facebook) adds. Also there is a plugin called FB Purity, which allows modifying FB to your desire. In my little country™ the young ones are ditching Facebook.

I would find it a pity of you throw all the hard earned money in a campaign, which ends in "sink holes" installed in browsers.

To be honest I have no idea what advertisement system will be effective.

Anyway, my 2 cents.

Thx for the Allegiance Marketing Campaign and thanks to Blacksun94, Culmination, Dome, Raumvogel and Thallium for the donations.

My girlfriend was grumbling a bit because the fb campaign only targeting males. She said nowadays the playerbase of online games is more mixed. I don't know. She has no insight.
Alleg is special. Money is short.

How is it targeting only males?

First post, "The Plan" - "aimed at males age 13-45"

edit - typing is hard

I considered targeting both sexes and heavily relying on the 'interests' targets but I can't get over a strong sense that:

Targeting women seems like it would be a waste of money.

I speculate the ratio for men to women players in the history of Allegiance at around 500 to 1. One of the many things I don't understand about women is their game preference, so I thought we'd just go for what we know we have a better chance at.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have more women play, but to me it seems like it's more cost effective to go for dudes only.

It makes sense. This game has historically appealed more to the male demographic. Its important that the limited resources go as far as they can.

Well, if it was true historically, no need to change it! Everything people did in the past was always right.

When you are trying to market a game on 250 bucks, changing historical trends isn't your top priority.
