You probably need to trim the aircraft. Some are pain to fly at certain speeds (like Bf-109 or fw-190) because they have no rudder or airlon trims.
That's presuming you switched back your flaps from take-off to raised when you reached about 200kmph :)

Only games we have ever played in FRB started with us already in the air. They were scenarios so we were in Mustangs.

Maybe your js or its settings is faulty then? I didn't fly any American or British planes so I have no tips to give you how to fly a mustang but I've flown against them quite a bit and I can say they are great (both faster and turns better than its German counterpart).

Also I see people complaining about high altitude flight models so that may be an issue ( I never go above 4km because I can't spot @#(! that are more than 1.5km-2km away).

had some great realistic game on the weekend. best one was on bulge where we started 2 pilots down (10v10 but two of our newbs crashed on takeoff) and using a he 110 and fighter we baited and tag teamed (fig draws, he !!0 with bound cannon) killed 6 of their team and won.
this game shows that the best aces in ww2 were just smarter and picked their engagements. helps to shoot good too of course.

level ! planes are fun.

It would literally nose dive as soon as the game started with me doing NOTHING.

It may be my joystick, it is a MS Sidewinder Pro circa 1999.

We'd all miss if we had your old Sidewinder Vis.

Ah! inverted axis. That was it Brood.

Successfully took off and landed a: Kingcobra, P-38, P-47.

Taildraggers are much harder to take off and land. Oy!
