Single most important thing
I'm not sure there is any less or more than normal mix of online group behavior... actuallly this is the only online game I (edit) did play given the general lack of childish behavior both in game and on the forums. There is/was a bit of cranky pants over game play tbs and Ive been as guilty as the next set of pants. Its the unusually long time for an online game has been around and how many people hung around for so damn long.raumvogel wrote:QUOTE (raumvogel @ Nov 30 2013, 09:40 PM) So it seems the TL;DR of this thread is...the game is great but most people are egotistical @#$%@#s.So without the marketing clout of say C&C, we either put up with each other or pay the price for C&C.
We all have our list of "If only"s and that are actually contradictory in many cases to each other. It grows tiresome and discouraging to spend MOST of your time dealing with the bitching when you do step forward to work on something from your "if only" and that more than anything makes things go poorly and makes them disccouraged. I don't have some magic fix for it as no one likes to be told no and many carry grudges when it happens to them. *shrug* Boy Scouts, work, the society for restoration of trains, Allegiance all of them end up divided into camps over some damn thing or the other.
I imagine the sugar and vinegar spoonfuls in my tea are basically when I forget and than remember to stop taking the @#(! so damn seriously. That and a general lack of sanity

Ssssh
Allegiance died due to the piss poor administration of Tigereye and the ridiculous regime he constructed to suit his ego.
The only way allegiance can ever "come back" will be when the community is all gone and there is nothing left for him to control or manipulate. The game cannot exist in a "Forked" manner, thus; the current existence must be completely abandoned before a new one can rise (without the regime and Tigereye). This was discussed long ago when the numbers dropped below 1000 players (circa 2009). If you think alleg has any hope of revival with this regime (or what's left of it) in place, you're sadly mistaken.

[15:25] <+fuh-zz> No, he simply put effort into it.
[15:25] <BBT_> are you really that retarded?

Although this is entirely true, one could make an argument that people "moved on" because Allegiance did not change in any way to give them incentive to keep playing. If we believe that it was the admin's responsibility to oversee the game in such a way that it would last, then we can lay responsibility at their feet.Viscur wrote:QUOTE (Viscur @ Dec 3 2013, 01:48 AM) I'm pretty sure far more people quit playing alleg because they moved on than because of any of the admins![]()
That may be a silly expectation... but its probably one we had.

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.
