The weekend games have been pretty good the last few months and the community seems to be getting along quite well.
I have noticed an increase in niceness to new players and much less arguing/fighting in the game lobby.
It has been quite a while since I have received any complaints about players getting out of control in the lobby and very few bans have been applied lately.

djrbk wrote:QUOTE (djrbk @ Nov 20 2013, 05:17 PM) Why even do that?

Why not $#@! off and find something better to do with your time instead of writing repetitive walls of texts about a game you don't care about to a community you don't like?

Were you that badly psychologically affected when you played that it left scars?

Or do you just have no real meaning to your life in general and this is literally all you have?
Damn I love you dj.

The niceness and lack of fighting is because a few individuals disappeared, not because the community changed.

Elzam/Bacon: What I don't understand is why you would even make posts, saying "Allegiance is dead, move on." The people who play do so because they enjoy it and don't want to move on, so you're not helping anybody. And if you don't want to play you don't have to. What do you have to gain from convincing pkk/TE to shut down the servers and call it a day?

LOL, Yahoo is alive and well, my friend, as are a few other things on that list, compared to Alleg.

Look, I'm not trying to tell people to abandon ship. Heck, if there are still games on Sundays, if I'm ever home in the morning I might just reinstall and log in and get a game in. Been awhile and I'd probably enjoy it. The only thing I'm trying to express is that there is really no hope of "reviving" Alleg back to its former glory circa 2000-2009. And that's OK. It's nothing to get angry about and defensive about. I just think it's healthy for the community to acknowledge that Alleg is like... it's like William Shatner. Still kicking, yes, but his days are numbered and his glory days are well behind him. Why is that such an infuriating statement? I grew up with this game, for crap's sake. I have just as much nostalgia for it as the next guy. I made my mod, I campaigned to spread the word, even put in a little effort towards the end of the Golden Yeras there to get the website portal page sexed up a little. I was invested and tried to do what little I could. But it didn't work, and it's almost 2014. So it's OK. Everything is OK.

So, with that, ya'll can kindly shut the $#@! up with your "ALLEG IS ALIVE AND WEEELLLLLL" BS and just be normal people. Go enjoy your Sunday games and maybe I'll see you there. Just stop acting like this game and community isn't a husk of what it once was and that there's any shot of changing that fact. Christ on a stick, man. It's not a huge deal.

HSharp wrote:QUOTE (HSharp @ Nov 19 2013, 07:02 PM) One thing I would like back in is the players online thing, while it might be demoralising to see it at 0 or very small numbers I think it's more likely to generate greater numbers when people see that their friends are online playing, also it gives a reason to look at the front-page because I don't look at that anymore, just straight to the forum.

Yup, the change I thought was a good idea but I do notice I won't log often at all, at least if I see people of some amount are there I'm more likely to.

Ahhhhh, yes. The friendly, welcoming, intelligent, historically accurate, few-individuals-free Allegiance community at its best. Doubleplusgood.

Please never change, you are doing so well.
